I am currently trying to find new wheels for my new car. I'm getting a new front end, scoop, spoiler put on right now. I will have it back on Monday.

For those of you familiar with mustangs, I am wanting to get 18" Roush wheels for it, but they are really really expensive.

Those stock wheels are one of my favorite factory wheel designs on any car, ever. KEEP EM!

Spend your money tracking down the 2 cylinders you seem to be missing :ninja:

Nice one dash. I didn't know if anyone would realize it's a v6 or not. Actually I decided to go with a V6 on purpose after the ammount of money I was spending in gas when I had my v8 Trans Am.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. It is a nice looking ride, I've always been a fan of that generation.
2009-08-22, 9:35 PM #16
What year was your trans am?
2009-08-22, 9:45 PM #17
My trans am was a 96. My mustang is an 08. I knew when I first saw this body style that I had to have one. I'll post an updated pic of it on Monday.

Still didn't say what model of Roush wheels you were aiming for..

So are you trying to make it look like a roush or something, then be packing a v6. I'd just keep it stock, your better off that way.

I disagree. I like the roush body design, so I'm going do make mine look like one.

If you look into Roushs, there are many different kinds, but the general Roush comes in 3 stages.

Stage 1: Roush body kit
Stage 2: Bodykit + suspension
Stage 3: Bodykit + suspension + engine

so it won't be very different from a stage 1.
And, of course, if anyone asks, I won't say it's a stage 1 or anything.
Although I have done my fair share or racing in the past, I don't ever see myself wanting to race anyone with the mustang.
I really don't want to spend an extra $20,000 for a Stage 1 and get nothing more than Jack Roush seat covers, a bigger gas expense, and piece of mind. It's not worth it to me.

You don't understand, your going to piss a lot of car people off.

I personally don't care, mustangs and well just fords in general are not my cup of tea, but true enthusiasts will pick on you.

Nothing is worse than a slow car that looks fast.

Or owners of the actual real deal who had to work their asses off to purchase one.

Case in point, I really dislike seeing fobras on the road.

I always thought these looked totally badass WITHOUT any body kit, and without even having a spoiler. But I always like simple.

Keep in mind that aftermarket parts are RARELY of the same build quality as OEM. Especially when it comes to bumpers or anything plastic. Don't be surprised when the bumper mounts are broken in a few months.

Also, I'm not just being a jerk, I've done the whole car modding thing... I've bought expensive and I've bought cheap. There is a difference, always.

Sorry, but they are Roush parts. I'll post a photo of the box if you want me to. Straight from the Roush factory.

You posted a thread about the new body style when it was just coming out. I saw the thread and it stuck in my mind.

July 4th, I got a new 45th Anniversary Edition 2009 GT Convertible.

...8 days later, it was totalled.

After a long, long, long car search, I decided to get a 2010 V6 Premium on Friday.

My take on the V6 insecurity "not a real sports car" complex -- because the 09 GT was new, the DMV has not yet even issued a title for the car. Insurance will not pay off the loan until this happens, so I couldn't finance much of a new car. I got this with cash and I'd rather own a new commuter car with a sleek look than a new commuter car with a commuter car look... call it post-sports car therapy. There were some compelling used options at a comparable price point (e.g. BMW 3 series), but this way, every mile I put on this thing is mine. So far, I'm very happy with my decision. :D

And even as a V6, maybe they didn't know what's what, but I still get ego-stroke moments like when bro #1 nudged bro #2 and pointed/jaw-dropped as I passed by. :P

I'm glad your ride turned out okay, Spiral.

Yea man, I was sorry to hear about your car. Thankfully, in the accident I was in, the other driver's insurance finally decided to accept liability. So I got it fixed, and you can't even tell. The picture I posted was taken AFTER the accident.

So they didn't get my car back to me yet on Monday. They said it should be done sometime with in the next day or so.

I drove by and took some pictures of it.

As for the Wheels, I think I have decided on the 18" fan blade wheels.

Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

Spiral, American Racing Torque Thrust II's all the way. Get 16 or 17's and wrap them up in Mickey T's. Perfection.

Like the louvers btw, didn't notice them in the top shot.

yeah, I was looking at those too, but I don't think I like the chrome look very much.

It will either be the American Racing Torque Thrust II or the Fan Blade.

Right now, I am leading toward Fan Blade.

Yeah, they also make a popular mustang wheel called the Bullitt. Its essentially the same style as the TT2's but comes in chrome, gunmetal, black, black chrome, etc. Might want to check those out. Might be significantly cheaper when the TT2's as well.

HAHA, yeah, the Bullitt was my first choice.. i wanted it in gunmetal. But they only come in 17" and I want at least an 18"

As far as design, it's a decent looking car. I'm not a fan of most newer Mustangs, or Mustangs in general. Someday I want to buy and restore an '88 Pontiac Fiero GT. And race it against JLee's Toyota MR2. :awesome:
