How does this movie stand up to Full Metal Jacket?

2009-08-27, 9:52 AM #43
in much the same way Resident Evil stands up to The Notebook.

I watched the Notebook and didn't like it
I watched FMJ and liked it

I must conclude that since I like Inglourious Basterds I would not like Resident Evil.

Saw IB tonight, awesome film! It blew me away.

For some reason, Brad Pitt's "basement" dialogue cracked me up.

BUMP

Finally saw the damn movie, and holy hell I enjoyed it. It was pretty damn thought provoking as well... or at least to me.

Anyway, Soshoshoshosina (pretty blonde cinema lady) was definitely my favorite character. She was so evil and mysterious! Plus, that shot of her [spoilers]in the smoke while the theatre was burning[/spoilers] was bad ***. It's too bad she was kind of dumb ¬_¬

The SS Lieutenant, even though he was a massive dick, was pretty damn hilarious too.

Its definitely in my top 5 favorite movies, that's for sure.. you have be able to comprehend and enjoy reading dialogue though. I think if you come into the movie expecting large, lengthy action scenes you're not going to give the movie the credit it deserves. The acting was amazing (especially the German SS officer... holy ****.), and the movie is downright ridiculous, hilarious, and just plain ****ing awesome.

Agreed completely. It was Tarantino, through and through, and that's a good thing.
