Ugly girls wearing sunglasses syndrome

Being back on a college campus has only reminded me of this phenomenon.

When girls wear big sunglasses that make it hard to tell whether they are attractive or not. Even when it is cloudy, raining, etc, they wear them.

At first, I was like :awesome:, but then :suicide:

Gigantic plastic sunglasses are usually to hide the uggo or the hangover. Aviators are huge but it makes it easier to tell. And they're more awesome.

I can only guess that huge sunglasses have become a fashion statement from celebrities that use them to hide their faces in public. They're hideous.

I have my normal sunglasses and my large white sunglasses. I really don't have much thought into which I wear...usually whichever is closer at the time I'm leaving, but I do love my oversized sunglasses for their ridiculousness! :D

Actually I'm a fan of her glasses. They're vey rare retro Versaces... but I do think her face is kind o gross looking, so maybe the sunglasses are a good thing for her to be wearing. :P

It's not just college. My wife got a pair and so did my 16 yr old stepdaughter. Then my 12 yr old stepson got some huge glasses as well (although a different style). Thank goodness he's not wearing skinny jeans yet but I have a feeling that is coming.

Aviators at least have a real purpose. They're meant to give maximum possible coverage. For sunglasses, it means reducing glare because no light can enter. For prescription lenses, you get a much larger corrected field of vision with much less distortion.

Oh, I get that they fulfill a handy role. I've just never liked the look of them or understood why people do, but I've always been in the minority on that one it seems.
