I used to drink alot. Ironically I stopped drinking as much after I joined the navy. (well it was before that actually, but I still think it's kinda funny)
But I used to drink about fifth (750 ml) of Captain Morgan's (mixed with coke) nearly every night of the week. (I picked up a bottle on the way home from work, usually.) I was on a first name basis with the clerks at the liquer store. On the nights I didn't do that, I would typically
pick up a tall boy and drink it driving home from work
(don't look, JLee), then spend the remainder of the night drinking beer or whatever else I had around the house. Then Thursday nights we went to the bar (it was karaoke night. I never sang, but I would drink rum and cokes and play pool. I got pretty good at pool :D). Then on the weekends I'd either not drink or I'd drink more heavily, depending on my mood.
I blame it mostly on the cheap prices of alcohol in Idaho and on being mildly depressed because my life kinda sucked and I was pretty broke. I decided to cut back on my drinking for two reasons. First, I woke up on a Sunday morning about 7:30am rolled over and looked at the clock and my very first thought was "Man I could go for some rum right now." It kinda scared me. Then I started paying attention to the cost and realized it was really freakin expensive for me to drink so much (even with alcohol being so cheap in Idaho). So I ended up cutting back, which was really not difficult at all. I still drink at times, but I no longer get the urge to drink every night like I used to. And most times even if I do drink, it's not more than a couple beers or mixed drinks.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.
Lassev: I guess there was something captivating in savagery, because I liked it.
