Quitting cold turkey

Is caffeine physically addictive?

I've never had a problem with caffeine, or nicotine really, so I'm wondering if its a physical thing or just a tough habit to break.
It took a while for you to find me; I was hiding in the lime tree.

Yeah, I got lucky there.

It's physical, hence the headaches.

I figured the headaches might have been a side effect from drinking so much caffeine, not a withdrawal symptom.

No, they're definitely a withdrawal symptom
Fincham: Where are you going?
Me: I have no idea
Fincham: I meant where are you sitting. This wasn't an existential question.

Lately since we've been in production I've been getting 2 or 3 hours of sleep per night so I've been drinking a LOT more coffee than I should be. I never really liked the stuff and it doesn't really wake me up at all, plus it gives me heart palpitations sometimes so I usually try to avoid it. But when you're running off that little of an amount of sleep you're willing to do anything to stay awake :/

Funny, I'm doing the same, though my intake came through all too much Pepsi. I somehow got to the point where I drank at least 6 cans a day. Not only do I feel I'm ingesting too much cafeine, but I feel that this amount of pop is quickly sabotaging long years of weight loss efforts.

Instead of going cold turkey though, I've limited myself to two a day (lunch and dinner) and will move on to one per day within two weeks.

Calories + tooth damage is why I try to avoid soda these days.

Edit: And I'm very cautious of the fake sugar in diet soda...

Yea, tooth damage is also another reason. I've had a lot of money to put on my teeth this past year and have more to come. My teeth aren't horrible, white and strong, but I've had some minor cavity outbreaks. Caught them early but its still costly. I can't do it all at once so I'm doing one per month.

Gotta hate how costly dental work is.
