While I was vacationing I caught a few minutes of Empire Strikes Back on TV. It was being broadcast in HD and it looked amazing. It didn't seem to be the new "CGI-CRAZY" edition, either (although it's harder to tell in ESB because they didn't modify as many scenes, and the modifications weren't over-the-top with fart and poop jokes and such). How is this possible? I didn't think it ever got released in any HD format (blu-ray or HD DVD), and since GL is a moron, I doubt he'd release the classic "THX remastered" versions instead of the crappy "special editions." How is this possible?
Also, it didn't look upconverted either, it really looked HD.

I'm not sure we'll see HD versions of the original versions till either Lucas is dead or on the third or fourth dip blu-ray release (bah!).

I remember seeing them talking about it in one of the DVD special features or something that he was going to be Georges successor. Again, can't really confirm it. xD
