How long has it been since you read them? I used to think so, but when I tried to re-read I got nauseous.

I still like them. Everything else is crap, IMO.

I wouldn't be opposed to seeing the Thrawn Trilogy animated like the Clone Wars. Then you wouldn't have to deal with the age problems of the actors in the OT, and they could do the voice overs.

what i want to know is why so many people are so offended by the fact that the creator of the star wars franchise has final say about what goes into it. STAR WARS DOES NOT BELONG TO YOU, IT BELONGS TO GEORGE LUCAS.

Sorry, but people that think that George Lucas should not be allowed to modify his own work just piss me off, especialy when you don't see this reaction when changes are mande in other franchises.

We're offended because he lost the plot several decades ago. You're right that Star Wars does not belong to us, but there's also that little thing of freedom of speech where we can point out how much he's ****ed things up and George and you are just gonna have to suck it up and accept that.

Not true, people have also been highly critical of his ability to **** up the Indiana Jones franchise too :D

And not just GL -- remember the whole ET thing.

Looney Tunes did it in a nice way -- we bought a pack of dvds and there is a notice, "hey, there is crap in here from the 60s that people consider offensive -- it was wrong then, it's wrong now, but we're not going to go back and edit the cartoons -- here they are, the way they were originally broadcast" -- unlike GL, who not only screws them up, somehow also manages to destroy the archives and also refuses to release the originals on any decent medium. Blah.

It's working for him, clearly, based on the $$ he's making. But he's lost all credibility in my mind and the minds of many others.

Yeah, because credibility has always been at the center of concern for Hollywood types.

Right, because right up there I said how much GL and others care about what I think of them -- good point.
