It's NBC. They're way, way worse on their shows and talent than any other network... The original Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Farscape, Heroes... the list of shows they've eviscerated through pure incompetence goes on and on.

Hard to fault Leno at all for this fiasco. NBC set him up to have to leave a show he didn't want to leave and then experimented with another one that apparantly isn't working out. So now they want to, basicly, move him back to the tonight show time because Conan is disappointing as well with regards to ratings. If they would have left everything alone it would be better than what they have how (although I like having the opportunity to watch both of them earlier than before) but now it looks like they might lose both of them. I find it doubtful Leno would be comfortable returning to the Tonight Show if Conan leaves because it gives the false impression that he maneuvered this whole fiasco from the start. NBC should just quit. The entire franchise has turned into a joke.

It's another situation of NBC taking something that worked just fine and ruining it by ****ing with it.

It's like what they've done with Chuck. Chuck was funny because he had no place being involved in the sort of **** he was involved with. Now he knows kung fu and ****. Stupid.

EDIT: According to TMZ (who is always right about this sort of thing somehow) Leno has the Tonight Show back in his hands.

Kimmel vs. Leno.

Kimmel wins.

According to Huffington Post (LUL), it's been negotiated. Conan gets a fat paycheck, free to compete on any network, and Leno moves back to hour long Tonight Show

I don't remember Leno ever saying, "No, no, I don't want to take away the Tonight Show from Conan," so I wouldn't be surprised if he's pulling the strings to make this happen.

Leno is going to come out of this whole deal looking like an @$$.

Leno should just retire for good. He had 17 years at it. It's time to move on.

The Tonight Show was pulling it's highest ratings ever when Leno left the show and was pulling better ratings than Letterman. Had O'Brien been getting the same ratings, he'd still have the show. NBC screwed the pooch 5 years ago.

Okay, but he never wanted to retire. NBC wanted him to leave and ended up with a ratings disaster after Conan was given the show. Now NBC wants to move him back and Conan, for some reason can't stand to move the show (which to me doesn't make sense because I doubt that would have had any tangible effect on their actual shooting schedule). Having a bigger ratings draw in front of his show might actually have helped. Now, don't misunderstand. I don't fault Conan but I also don't fault Leno. The biggest loser here will likely be Letterman (if not NBC) when he is up against both Conan and Jay.
