Also you're mention of the funnel webs got me interested in just how deadly they are, I did a quick google, there are a total of 13 recorded deaths from funnel webs in history, and all were before the creation of the antivenmo created in 1980.
HOWEVER, that being said, they still sound pretty damn scary, they're venom has killed people in under 15 minutes, as opposed to the next deadliest spiders lazy 2 hours.

The person killed in 15 minutes was a small child according to Wikipedia.

The scariest part, to me, is this:

That means I would actually have to touch the large creature.

We have Brown Recluse spiders around here. It is advisable to kill them.

Any and all bugs found in my house are ruthlessly eradicated. If possible with fire, if not with a shoe.
Life is beautiful.

When I was a kid i'd take spiders and other creatures outside and release them. Nowadays I just ignore them, unless they're in the bathtub or something, in which case I move them to another area of the house.
Why do the heathens rage behind the firehouse?

I too rescue animals/insects of all types. I've rescued various insects as well as dogs, a rabbit, snakes, turtles & even an owl. I don't purposely kill anything unless there's a reason to do so & that's quite rare.
? :)
