Dude the wifi at my univserity is 20 down 20 up but the ethernet is only 5 down and 1 up wtf

my laptop and desktop are next to each other but my laptop is like 4x faster

network setup is fubar, they need to subnet you guys -- more people probably using wired, or the wireless setup is more robust (probably newer). Is it possible you're using wireless n, ~300mbps, and old 10-base-1 wired ethernet which only goes 10mbps?

32% completed downloading Crysis Wars on Steam - it's at 1.5MB/sec now. I was getting ~180KB/sec before.
