I still believe that people who think extensions are not amazing are ones who have not used them enough.

A dashboard isn't going to do nearly as much as an extension, and in fact I wouldn't ever use a desktop browser without them now.

Good point, I hadn't given that thought. :)

Firefox. I tried using chrome, but I pretty much hate the interface. And no, I won't just "get used to it" like everyone suggests I do.

the location of the tabs i could get used to but i like my tabs to open in the order i open them not next to the current tab

plus a few other quirks that chrome has... i still use it for some sites because for some reason flash and firefox are not always working together for me (for example myspace... total crapshoot on if the music player on a band's page will show up or not)

I actually like it the other way around and actually installed an extension for FF to make it do that until I switched to Chrome/Iron hahah

If there is any difference, it's this.

Hm. Maybe so but I was under the impression that 64 bit applications better utilized the management of memory in relation to the application, thus increasing performance?

No, 64-bit applications (including operating systems) can address more memory. It won't matter unless the process is trying to consume more than 2 GB of RAM.

There are other benefits to 64-bit, some of which aren't exclusive to 64-bit systems but happen to be in the x64 architecture (security improvements, NX bit). 64-bit is faster for number crunching very large numbers, but IE isn't doing that, either.

I mean, it may be faster but if it is, it's due to not loading plugins or some other orthogonal issue. Just being 64-bit won't make IE any faster. It may even make it (negligibly) slower.

There's a chrome extension for making your tabs open in that order, worked fine.

Having got used to Chrome opening my new tabs next to the current one, I will never go back.

I couldn't even tell you why I prefer it this way, but I do.

Oh, cool. Thanks for the insight Emon!

Also earlier in this thread I mentioned password management for firefox, if it interests any of you, I found a great management add-on called LastPass. Its working great for me so far.
