Yeah.

Chunsoft did the Mystery Dungeon games, and they are surprisingly good for a cute "oh no, I'm a Pokémon" adventure thing. Actual story and everything. And also kinda depressing.

A nice change from I WANT TO BE THE VERY BEST, but they're still grindy. And probably also sissy.

In all honesty more than a few people would like to see a grittier (as it were) Pokémon game, but that's unlikely to happen. I mean, the whole concept of glorified cockfighting isn't exactly friendly, but there you go. Besides, it's not like the concept hasn't been played around with. I mean, the Pokémon Special manga is suririsingly dark at times. With half-rotted zombie pokémon at one point, and a pair of magmar being shattered by Team Rocket.

Oh, god! My socks don't match. I'd best change them so I can wear pretty pink frills on both of my feetsies.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

A smart thing. An electric rodent can only be cooped up for so long before...

There was a kid in High School that wore a Pokemon belt to school every day with the little red and white balls hanging off of it.

Pretty sad.

The game was always used to socialize when I was a child. We'd play outside and compare pokemon, battle and talk about the game. It's completely different than games like COD where the players just sit in their rooms all day, never socialize, and if they do it's about how they want to "join teh armiez cuz shootin stuffz wuld be funz".

Sorry to get your pink panties in a ruffle. Seriously, though, do you even know what the definition of the word "sexist" is? I'll just point it out, even though I'm the ignorant one:
Quote:
1. Discrimination based on gender, especially discrimination against women.
2. Attitudes, conditions, or behaviors that promote stereotyping of social roles based on gender.
Just a note, nowhere in my posts did I say anything that could be construed as discrimination against either gender. Nor did I say anything derogatory towards hetero- or homo-sexuals.

You are welcome to consider me, in regards to this topic, insensitive (I am). You can accuse me of not caring about your feelings (I don't). You're welcome to call me stupid (likely I am, in a lot of areas) and ignorant (most definitely). But please don't call me sexist — I hate everyone equally.
2010-03-19, 10:25 PM #99
(oh also I used the recommend dash up there — did you see that!?)

I dunno Brian, I'm pretty sure you're bashing on non traditional gender expression. See "sissy". Sexist may not be the right word but it's the same ballpark.
