Out of curiosity, just how many of you actually play xbox games with them?

Original xbox games, you absolute numpties.
nope.

I haven't even turned the damn thing on since mid-2009 or so. Getting the non-HDMI Pro version for 250 € about 2 weeks before the HDMI Pro version was available for 199 € (in Finlande) was also quite S-M-R-T.

Halo 1 ran terribly on the xbox 360. But basically you pop the disk in, connect to the net and it'll download an emulator patch for the game to run. Rallysport racing was great, halo not so much

Why wouldn't someone with a 360 play games?

My xbox is brokenish, back home, but I'd play on it if I had it here with me.

I was playing Lost Odyssey, Oblivion, the Lego games, Mass Effect. All fun games.

I play 3 games on my PS3, Uncharted, Uncharted 2, Ratchet and Clank.
Beyond that's it's blurays.

Oh.

Pfft.

Poll needs to say "original xbox games."

Take one away from the yes column and move it to the no column. :P

****, I voted no but then realized I played halo 1 & 2 on my 360. So my vote cancels out JLee's.

I still voted yes, and it should be a no.

I don't even have any original Xbox games. Well, apart from the copy of Halo 2 that my flatmate hasn't given back to his ex, but we don't play that on the 360.

Never played an Xbox game on my 360. Still have an original Xbox sitting in the game room.

What are these xbox things you're talking about? Surely they're the work of the devil.

I've had an XBox 360 for almost two years now, I own probably 6-7 games and play 1-2 of them every now and then. Use it mostly for Netflix nowadays. Luckily I was never one of the people who got a RROD.

I read threads.

I'd play more but I traded most of them in before I got a 360. Fable 1, Jade Empire, Halo 1 and Halo 2. I even tried Doom 3 on it, and it works as fine as the Xbox port of Doom 3 ever did.
2010-04-03, 5:59 AM #23
Never had the X-Box, nor had any real desire for any game released on it, so no. Just 360 games.

My roommate bought a brand new Elite the other day and it RROD'd on him before he was done with the initial setup stuff. :suicide:

I played Fable and Halo. I didn't get very far in either of them. Halo sucks, and Fable 2 was out.

Homebrew Channel + NES Emulator = awesome

My Wii was probably used for classic Tetris more than everything else combined.

Should I get a 360?
2010-04-03, 10:27 AM #28
Do you want one?
2010-04-03, 10:31 AM #29
Well it's either get an 360 or build another PC. Starcraft 2 is coming out soon, so I think I'll stick to the PC. Unless there is some yet known release for the xbox... That would be interesting...
2010-04-04, 5:30 PM #30
I used to play Halo 2 before Halo 3 came out (can't play it online anymore now anyway), and Fight Night Round 3 before I got it for 360. Other than that, no.

A few times, but not very often. I'd probably get more backwards-compatible use out of my PS3 if it had it, but alas, it doesn't.
2010-04-04, 6:15 PM #32
Oh, actually, my vote is valid now that I remembered I have Baulders Gate, Dark Alliance. I don't play it though, but I have the patch installed for it so I am *able* to play it if I choose so.

Yeah thats actually what this thread is all about - I'm curious to see just how many people actually use the backwards compatibility seeing as so many people seem to ***** about the ps3. I'd have made it about the wii if it wasn't the same basic thing as the gamecube. :P
nope.

Well, it's a valid point, *****ing about backwards compatibility on the ps3.

Xbox 360 only has one previous generation. The PS3 has two.

Also, quite a few people buy the PS3 for the BluRay.
Now if I bought a PS3 for Bluray only, I could use the stockpile of old PS games I have around.

If I buy the Xbox 360, I'm buying it to play video games, and to play 360 games. And I can play pretty much any original I have laying around if I want to. Any game worth playing has a patch.

It's an benefit, not a feature.

I occasionally get the urge to play something like FF10, FF12, Kingdom Hearts 1 or 2, etc. on my PS2, but it barely works (disc drive is on its last leg and only works when it feels like it) and I've become spoiled by the nice things with modern consoles (wireless controls that actually work, HD resolution, no memory cards), so I never do actually play it. If I could use my PS3 to play those games with some modern conveniences like wireless controllers, decent upscaling, and not having to use memory cards, then I probably would on occasion. I do play PS1 games on it occasionally, after all (mainly FF7, 8, or 9).

Comparing XBox's library of games with PS1/PS2 is not even fair.

Lots of games does not equal lots of good games.

PS1 was pretty much a disaster, but PS2 had both quantity and quality.

The original Xbox had... what? Halo and Jade Empire?
2010-04-04, 9:31 PM #39
Original Xbox had some amazing racing games, too.

I think Jade Empire was actually the last Xbox game I played on my 360. Every once in awhile I just feel like playing through again.
