Doctor Who

Yeah, I was expecting some more one-liners about the rainbow daleks, but no. Did you notice that the new generation has a hunchback too?

just watched the eleventh hour for the first time with my girlfriend who has never seen Doctor Who, she thought it was sort of cheesy, but even I can admit that even though I absolutely love it, but she thought it was funny and cute, especially the scenes with little Amy.

I liked it overall, very excited, I like how he is seeding the story arc already...GERONIMO

Doctor who has always been cheesy. Is anyone else upset about the redesign of the daleks, and not just the colors? The new eyestalk and raygun while looking more fierce, just life the feel of the old daleks. I mean the raygun has looked the same since the first dalek episode way back in the first series. Also, different color daleks aren't a new thing. These ones just happen to be bright colors.
My girlfriend paid a lot of money for that tv; I want to watch ALL OF IT. - JM

They actually look pretty much the same as the original daleks, only bigger. According to confidential part of the reason of them being bigger was that when they did Dalek back in 2005 theres a shot where the eyestalk is the same height as Billie Piper, and she's a midget compared to Karen Gillan. :P
nope.

I don't really have a problem with the shape (though they do look more like pepper pots then ever before) but the colors... How intimidating is white and blue? They're like the original power rangers!

Go go Dalek Rangers!

The new series is so great that I went and watched the 08/09' specials, in reverse order because that's how my torrents finished.
Then I bought Series 2 (the 9th doctor is an *******), this stuff is great

How come he had such a short life then?
2010-04-22, 4:08 PM #51
Because Eccelston left the series not wanting to be typecast.

Hell, the 8th doctor was only around for one feature length episode.
nope.

i thought Christopher Eccelstonleft becuase he didnt like the 9 month shooting schedule.
either wat i loved that series (angry and scarred from the time-war).
i noticed when looking at the older and newer versions of the Darleks it was like putting an old and new Mini next to each other as the newer Darkleks look like new BMW Mini's

Eccelston was good, but Tennant was heads-and-shoulders better, imo.

Btw, the latest episode "Time of the Angels" was pretty darn good. I hate that I have to wait a week to see the conclusion. :argh:

"Bishop"
That's a damn good Alien reference.

Sorry about posting 2 weeks behind you guys but we just saw The Beast Below in America.

I thought it even surpassed the series premiere. I enjoyed every last bit of it and it had a message a person can deeply think about.

Victory of the Daleks trailer looks promising, but I heard it absolutely sucked, is this true? No spoilers just tell me if it disappoints or not

I liked the Angels episode a lot.
Again... coming from someone who pretty much has no clue what is going on in the Doctor-verse.

Really cool concept! The Angels.. I like it a lot.

IMO, I didn't like the Dalek episode, Couchman. But maybe it just doesn't have the same awesomeness for me since I don't really follow Doctor Who and know the history of the Daleks.

I saw the Dalek episode a few nights ago. It's not that it's BAD, it just didn't seem to be as GOOD as I'd expect a Dalek episode to be. Maybe I'm used to Dalek episodes being two parters, so this one seemed rushed.

Yeah, it was ok, just not great. I didn't like "The Beast Below" much though.

Squirrel, if you liked the Angel episode you HAVE TO watch the episode they were introduced, "Blink" from Series 3. It blows away the recent episode. Of course, then, we didn't know anything about them.

Watch the original episode, "Don't Blink". It's one of the cooler episodes they've done, very Moffat-esque. (In that it's very timey-wimey wibbly-wobbly)

It's actually called "Blink" as Chewbubba said

and yeah, its one of the best Who episodes even though the Doctor is barley in it

Blink is easily the best episode since the revival.

Last night's episode was pretty good but theres still something I don't like about Alex Kingston.
nope.

Shes like a female Han Solo..but why am I still more attracted to Harrison Ford?

No, she's trying to be a female Han Solo, but really just comes off as annoying

Was she the one calling the Doctor "sweetie"?

What bothers me still, is Smith still looked like he was trying to do his best Tennant impression at the very end of the show. I had the same feeling in one of the last two shows also - "I'm Matt Smith as David Tennant as The Doctor!"

That'll happen, he probably watched Tennants episodes before he got the part, it'll take a while for him to really sink into his zone.
