So I forgot to watch the latest episode of V last night. So I head on over to ABC.com and watch the complete episode in great quality and with far fewer commercials. I was going to check but forgot before I closed the tab but I remember a couple years ago every episode of Lost was available in HD. Really is amazing how awesome this kind of stuff is.

Anybody that is still watching V care to comment on the show. I can't think of much to say other than I like the show but it seems to be missing something. That sort of shocking something that it seemed like the original had.

I haven't had the chance to watch it yet but may give it a shot.

I'm ok with ads spliced into online video, however, I absolutely abhor being forced to watch a 45 second long commercial before being allowed to watch a 30 second long youtube clip. Streaming video sites really need to make sure that ad length is proportional to the length of the video itself.

I didn't notice if the miniseries was up but I think at least six regular episodes are available.

Remember when watching a video on the internet meant downloading a .wmv/.mpg file or streaming it through WMP? That was only a couple years ago, btw.

*5 years, and there was flash before that, and you could embed streaming WMVs before that, and of course RealPlayer before THAT.

Realplayer :suicide:

I remember streaming red white and boom from a news channel back in like 99' on dial-up. Quality was pretty bad

ABC has their videos on Hulu.com. You'll find a lot more stuff there too (NBC, FOX, etc)

Yeah, I figured. I have so much access to digital media right now I don't have any reason to mess with Hulu.

I'm enjoying the show, and my fiancee, who has seen, but barely remembers, the original says that this reboot is moving a lot slower than the original did. for instance there has been no showing of the aliens without their human skin, or since the first episode a bunch of humans havent been killed, blah blah blah.

but yeah, i like it so far.

Yeah but none of that stuff caught on like whatever-it-is they're doing now with these youtube style online embedded video.

Forget V, you should all be watching Justified on FX!

V is OK, though. I enjoy it. It's not super great or anything, but it's interesting enough.

Heard a story from a co-worker about a guy he interviewed who, on his résume, claimed he could write ASCII code.

No one was quite sure what that meant.

The whole concept of V kinda irks me, though.

I mean, sure space ships and aliens are unrealistic..
But what is even MORE unrealistic is that no one has discovered the fact that there are some lizards living among us with a little bit of human skin covering them.

I mean, accidents happen. If one got in a car accident, and got all ****ed up, didn't have time to take a suicide pill, people are going to ask some questions about the FREAKING LIZARD WITH HUMAN SKIN that is all mangled up in the car wreck.

The same thing pisses me off about Terminators. I LOVE the Terminator franchise to death, but come on! That's just BS that people couldn't tell a ROBOT was under some skin.

Well, there have been some glimpses of skin, eyes, teeth.

I think with Terminators, they were only supposed to appear human on sight, not stand up to interaction.
2010-04-24, 3:28 PM #38
Oh, I wasn't reffering to inter-mingling with humans and blending in.

I was referring to THEY HAVE A HUGE METAL SKELETON.

Like, when they open their mouths. Magically you see a human mouth. And people are squishy! They wouldn't be squishy!

It's really really bad. Never mind the overt Glenn Beck character, the Obamanation references, and pro-conservative value characters, the show itself is pretty bland. The first half of the season was much worse, as actors seem to have settled into their characters better but it's still test audience approved tune in next week for more plodding along.

The original show was much better for its time. I enjoyed watching that much more, and the only thing that has kept me watching is the actress playing Anna is my kind of hot.
