Date Ideas?
2010-05-15, 9:53 PM #1
Hey! So I asked a friend out on a date. I don't want to do the sterotypical dinner and movie, so I was thinking of Laser tag, dinner, and a cigar bar*?

Does this sound like a good date? I've never asked a guy out to anything besides a formal dance or for coffee. I want to do something that he can brag to his boys about- something fun, and not girly.

So if my plan isn't good, do you have any suggestions?

Thanks!

*He and I are huge fans of "How I Met Your Mother", so I thought laser tag while being 'suited up' would be fun.

take him to the woods and sacrifice him in the name of me

he'll remember that date for the rest of his life
eat right, exercise, die anyway

Well, I feel comfortable assuming that he likes suits, laser tag and eating. As long as he also smokes cigars (and I can't imagine that would be part of the plan if you didn't already know he does), this sounds pretty much perfect.
If you think the waiters are rude, you should see the manager.

Yes it does sound like a good date.

Sounds great. I'd enjoy it! You should make slap bets. You will win because he'll feel bad about hitting you.

Maybe dinner = tree climbing + picnic in a tree?

Ditto. I'm personally not one for a cigar bar, but presumably that sounds like something you've found that interests him. Sounds like he'll have a few things to brag about!

Wow all these replies are really very civilized :tinfoil:

That sounds great. Any girl who has romantic ideas of her own that aren't created by romantic comedies is refreshing. Sounds like a hell of a date and a hell of a lucky guy.
DO NOT WANT.

Oh I'm sure that will change, sooner or later. This is Massassi after all. :P

BOOBIES.

Oh sorry.

I suggest watching Star Wars, eating pizza, and playing whatever his favorite video game is on the second date.
Also please marry me.

Cigar bar sounds awesome. But I like cigars, so what can I say.

Were we? I mean, we did start out with Jim suggesting a human sacrifice. :P

Jim doesn't count. He'd have suggested that no matter who it was, girl or guy. If anything, he may have toned it down.

Well, you win for our second date idea! That's assuming the first date is a LEGENDARY as I hope it will be. ;-)

Haha I'm not sure if he's a star wars fan... I'll check though. And I'm surprised there was no mention of the Leia slave outfit after playing his favorite videogame.

And you'll have to talk to Sugarless if you want me. She's my keeper/ Keeps me from making bad decisions. :awesome:

How about a real adventurous date: kayaking, rockclimbing, paintball wars, mountainbiking, Go rent a Big Harley chopper that seats two and ride it all over the city, that is if he could handle such a thing, or make a re-inactment of a super fast paced action movie and I definitely suggest you consult Sugarless if it concerns Tibby:P

good ideas, but sounds a bit long and drawn out if it's a first date. keep it short, lighthearted, and simple.

Don't give them ideas!

And yes, I'm both her Keeper and her Conscience, so any and all applications must go through me. :P

Yes, but she's more like a keeper/coach combo for me than a keeper/conscience combo

First/second dates should be fairly inexpensive (around $35).

If it doesn't work out, at least you didn't blow $200.

No, but she might blow something else...

I'm sorry. :(

Back in my day the men used to take the womenfolk out on dates.
It took a while for you to find me; I was hiding in the lime tree.

I went on a date last night. We ate some seafood and then sat in a field with a bottle of Jack Daniels. It was a lot of fun.

Roger, but remember the episode where Robin stepped in for Ted as the honorary bro? Barney and Robin ended up dating... so I'm hoping it works in my favor.

Ultimate, He took me out to dinner and movie two weeks ago, and I told him I'd pay him back... but I wanted it to be AWESOME!

Antony, Nights like that are fun too. Maybe I'll just buy cigars, and take him out to a field where we can smoke them?

To Everyone: I know nothing about cigars.... what do you suggest?

Padrons are good. Fuentes are good too. My favorite is the Padron 64 year torpedo.
