We all understand that. What he doesn't understand is that interest is not about giving away free money. I don't know how he can't wrap it around his head that because savings account are zero risk he will get zero interest. Does he think that because he's saving his money that he's automatically entitled to getting free money?

He clearly lacks an understanding of what interest is, and how the economy works
