This is, of course, the modern version of his costume, rumored to have been updated by Stark Industries.

They completely ditched the helm? Thats kind of lame. :( Especially since a more knight-ish look would have fit him more than Iron Man or Captain America.

+ Who the hell is that actor.

His name is Chris Hemsworth. He played Kirk's dad in the new Star Trek.

Also, this and the Captain America pics are both what they're calling "realized concept art" these days... They are not really final designs so much. They're basically just doing costume work and suiting up the actor, then doing a crapload of digital alterations to the image.

Ah, good to hear, the hammer looks like a squeaky toy.
The actor looks good though (visually speaking).

Oh hey, I can definately see him work. He's got a pretty good, deep voice for the part. I like the direction their casting these days.

I look forward to seeing Chris Evans as Captain America, though I'm sad he'll never reprise his role as Johnny Storm. He was awesome as the Human Torch.

Yeah, I don't really get that... I mean... We've seen the prop... It's bigger than that. The head of the Hammer is like half the size of his god damned torso.

I only had a couple of Thor comics as a kid. I just can't see a Thor film being a blockbuster.

Plus Thor is being directed by Kenneth Branagh. That dude has spent virtually all of his directing career making Shakespear adaptations... good ones at that. The dude makes some serious ****ing films.

EDIT: Thank you, Steven.

Dude, Thor has to have a cape. That would be as bad as Tim Burton's superman.

Good job, way to be offensive to a lot of people for no reason.

Though it is pretty funny

He does have a good point. Norse gods were far superior to any others. :colbert:

I doubt that anyone that's offended by such an image would've lasted for more than a week at Massassi.
? :)

Yes, I am aware of their relation.

Is it just me, or does he look exactly like Sean Connery?

Yeah it does...

Anthony Hopkins plays Odin in the movie. Said he put on a ton of muscle to play the role. I love the mental image of Sir Anthony hitting the weights to bulk up for a movie.

The perspective on that axe is killing me like Austin Powers' mole problem.

I thought iron man was going to be big, but I really don't see Thor being a smash hit. I hope I'm wrong, though. I want Avengers to be amazing.

But not complaining.
nope.

I'm still trying to figure out why a god would need a costume updated by Stark Industries.

Not sure how mortal armor would be better than divine armor.

I was looking forward to Iron Man - he was awesome in the comics from my childhood. Thor... not so much...

Besides, everyone knows Thor is really a benevolent grey-skinned alien from the Asgard race that allied themselves with Earth's Stargate command.

When he's cast out of Asgard he is naked. The hammer goes with him by accident.

Well, now, see that makes perfect sense. He will use mortal armor until his divine armor is restored.

Yeah... It's all being nailed down to be as realistic as possible when dealing with a Norse God...

Realistic where possible, yes. If you don't try for that you get people complaining about a bajillion plot holes like in Transformers 2

Yea makes no sense why Stark would enchance his armor...a naked Thor is still indestructible.
