Normally I'd ignore anything that has the name "Greenpeace" attached to it, but some of these were genuinely funny:

Well, if you want pix of dead/dying animals from the oil spill, look no further:

However, to get back on the original topic, some of you more creative-types should make a new logo for them.

One of my faves:

Why is it we deeply hate this planet so much?

Pelicans suck anyway.

These are hilariously heavy-handed.

You know, just in case we weren't really sure who ****ed up, I'm glad we have these guys keeping us up to speed.

Also, the comments on the oily birds thing are hilarious. Turns out we ruined everything ever, that God didn't make oil, and the only use for oil is fuel. Who knew?
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

I lol'd hard at these two.

I hope every member in the Security Council fines the **** out of every oil company involved in this.

Reason: Oil industry collapses on itself. Yes I know, collapsing the oil industry would essentially "darken" the planet for a decade. What's the better alternative...wait until every drop of oil is used up? In seriousness, it's 2010, why the hell are we still BURNING shìt to power everything??

nope.

So do horses.
2010-06-05, 4:44 PM #22
Yeah but you need a ****load of space to house and grow food for horses. It's sort of the same reason we don't use exclusively biodiesel or wind turbines. :P
nope.

We would have enough energy if we used solar panels. However the entire economy heavily depends on the oil business. Stopping with using oil means that the economy is going to collapse and large (oil) companies are going to be bankrupt. This means that jobs are going to get lost.

Who cares? Just start using solar energy (or wind, or...) but please stop burning oil, I don't give a **** the world economy is going to be destabilized for the next couple of decades. (the last paragraph is actually serious, not sarcastic)
2010-06-06, 8:22 AM #27
Solar panels aren't efficient enough yet. Or at least that was the last I read.
"Harriet, sweet Harriet - hard-hearted harbinger of haggis."
2010-06-06, 9:15 AM #28
We need to launch solar panels into space. They are much more efficient then.

The issue of using petroleum in the 21st century doesn't bother me, what bothers me is why in the hell are we still using coal?
He who controls the spice controls the universe-
2010-06-06, 9:51 AM #30
Oil is used for more things than fuel.

Solar energy sucks, even if it didn't storage mediums for energy are a joke.

Bio-diesel sucks too. It can **** up even the best running engines. It's bad for seals, gaskets, can cause premature wear of certain parts. Oh yeah, and it smells ****ing HORRIBLE.

This oil spill is a catastrophe. It's oficially not the time for wise cracks, internet important contests, or arguing. There is a body that exists that should be held responsible for this. BP can't solve the problem, lets find out who can so my tax dollars can go ahead and start paying for this like they were anyways.

I've already written my state representative a "what the **** letter," you should do the same.

lmao!

BP should pay every penny and then some. Still, this disaster must lead to reforms in well / rig design, NOT a blackout of the industry. Anybody who thinks that is clearly LOLclueless and listens too much to 14 yr old girls with "save the penguins" T Shirts.

Shut the **** up you self-righteous jackass. In case you didn't know, you're one of the people "living a kings life". You don't want to live your life in fear more than anyone else does. Go live life in a third world country where you face death every day from every direction, then come explain to me how that life solves everyone's problems.

This bothers me too. Coal is nasty **** and way worse than anything petroleum you could imagine.

The answer lies in how ridiculously abundant and cheap it is. We simply cannot afford NOT to burn it.

Yep ditto on that one Dash_ and besides alot of people have died working in coal mines and its very damaging to nature. They have completely destroyed mountain tops in West Virginia and somewhere in Pennsylvania there is a mine that has been burning for years and it has destroyed and entire town and its surroundings because of that. The thought of coal mining does this to me :argh::argh::argh:.

They aren't. To power a country the size of britain we'd have to completely cover the whole of Ireland in panels. :P
nope.
2010-06-06, 2:57 PM #37
Britain would probably do that.

Unfortunately, the same people who are currently *****ing about carbon emissions, oils spills, and how evil we are to the environment are the same NIMBYs and treehugging *******s who have been blocking nuclear progress for the last 4 decades in this country. OOPS! :XD:
