Laid it down and ate asphalt

Good to hear you're ok man. I can't believe the cops wouldn't come out for that though. Someone hit my car in the parking lot and took off while I was inside and they came out and did a report on it. I can't believe they wouldn't come for a hit and run felony like that.
Life is beautiful.

Yeah, I uh accidentally had a hit and run once, and I got my ass handed to me by the cops. I had just gotten my license, and scraped the side of someones car once while merging. There was no damage save for a small dent in my car, and I thought he hadn't noticed, so I kept going. He called the cops on me and I got pulled over and accused of having drugs and weapons. :ninja:
DO NOT WANT.

Good to hear that you are OK and that you were out in appropriate riding gear. It always bugs me to see bikers with no protective gear on the freeway. It's just such a gamble. My father is more and more hesitant to ride his bike to work because of the inattentiveness of many drivers and failure to recognize motorcycles. There are a slew of billboards along my way to work advocating motorcycle awareness as well as ad's on the radio here in the Twin Cities. I always look three times.

If your exhaust is two piece, don't re-use the gaskets from the old exhaust.

A lot of newer bikes use gaskets that crush to form a good seal between the manifold and the muffler. You could probably ask the dealer if this is the case. Either way I don't usually re-use gaskets or seals. The only exception would be on things that don't matter or don't get raging hot, like the points cam cover on my vintage honda.

I would also look around for any oil spotting under the bike. It doesn't take a whole lot to push the crankcase a part a little and create a small leak. If there is a tiny leak, there is some sorta goopy goop you can put on there. Replacing the crankcase gasket is a big job, as is splitting the case on anything. It's the perfect off-season project.

Good to hear you're okay, motorcycle accidents don't usually turn out so pretty.
