I have ten different pairs of Puma Mostro / Mostro II / Il Mostro shoes. They're the same shoes worn on "The Island"

All in different colors.

I have a pair of brown & white Converse that I've been wearing for 5 years. I go barefoot most of the time but I wear sandals when I go camping/hiking.

How do those vibram things run? I've been interested in them for some while but I'm not going to risk paying 105 euros for a pair of possible crap.

Go ahead, waste away in your cage of vanity you creature from the north! I will enjoy the exhilaration of running on sharp stuff 'barefooted'!

I don't wear them around like hippies do though.

My podiatrist warned me against using 5 finger shoes. He claims that separating the toes is a bad thing & that it increases your chances of tearing those muscles. However, I think I'm still going to buy them. I just finished my alcohol injections for a Morton's Neuroma & am eager to give them a shot.
? :)
2010-06-11, 7:17 AM #39
I think your podiatrist is an idiot. People have run around on bare feet for millions of years. In fact, they still do.

Actually they probably do increase the chances of tearing those muscles. Because why would those muscles be strong if you've been in silly shoes all your life.

If you run correctly (NOT on your heel) then they're great. They're like running barefoot but less hazardous.
