I tried a pair on recently (exactly like the ones you posted or at least similar) & really liked them. My wife also wants a pair. I can't wait to try hiking w/ them. I really like how the ridges in the soles expand/open for better traction.
? :)

If you start running long distance with them immediately you wll hurt yourself.

But toe spread is natural. I mean, it's how your feet are designed.

I typically wear Nike Shox, no need for a pic there... Unless I'm dressing better than a T-shirt and shorts/jeans.

No. People used to run barefoot for plenty long distances. If you have facts or proof to back up this statement, go for it. But I know plenty of people who run ONLY with them, and say that injuries have gone away.

A large portion of the parkour community uses them, and they're really awesome. I tried on a pair two years ago, but they didn't fit my feet. As soon as I get a job and start having a bit more spending money, I'm going to go try on a new pair.

I think he means for people that aren't used to them. If you don't go barefoot often and especially if you don't run barefoot, your feet will get sore very quickly because your arches aren't well developed. I think he just means, "don't put them on and run 20 miles." You should ease into them.

I have seen your feet, they look like the feet of a cross between a yeti and a hobbit.

That seems more like common sense... It also didn't sound like that's what he meant.

I recently started working for zappos, I picked up a pretty nice pair of Doc Martens for like $30. My discount is pretty insane on employee appreciation days.

Are you really trying to tell me that someone whose feet are weakened from wearing shoes should start trying to run long distances right away? I think you misread my post. :( I have a pair and only run in them except when I'm in Marineland.

I know when I started doing long runs my feet, ankles, and knees were in horrible pain for about a month and a half.

I've got a couple pairs of Skechers that I've had for 2+ years, they were buy one get one 50off, so. I've got some nice Mizuno runners, they are white beacons of hope. I'm typically wearing flipflops when it's warm enough, so right now I'm rocking a ****ty pair from Target that I picked up in Eureka, CA on a roadtrip over spring break. They are fine, in terms of the quality of the sole, except the top surface is shredding. Oh wells!

And as the late, great Vegiemaster used to proclaim: Naked feet are happy feet :)

And I wasn't joking about the ninja boots I posted earlier! I really do have ninja boots.
