I don't have a problem with immigrants but you are furthering the comment I made earlier about hispanic not being a race.

Yeah I'm not commenting on anything it just bugs me when people automatically label different prejudices as racism. :P

My mom has a firm belief that all Americans are racist, she doesn't quite realized the irony in that.

Technicality.

Racism is a form of prejudice, saying all Americans are x is pretty much the same as saying all Chinese are x, prejudice-wise

No, the term, correctly, to associate with latino would be illegal immigrant but the vast majority of them are white so it's not a race issue. It's an illegal immigration issue.

I think they're referring to "ethnocentrism". It seems to me that they'd be better off using the word "bigot" (not that I'm personally suggesting that you are one).
? :)

Agreed, racism is just the buzzword

Well, I'm pretty much always going to own that label here because I oppose illegal immigration and ruling out things like racial profiling as legitimate law enforcement tools.

This isn't true. One can be hispanic regardless of race.

It's not a nationality. :P
nope.

That is correct, as well. It is an ethnicity and that is even harder to tangibly define. You obviously have both white and black hispanics and, as strange as it may seem, you could have asian hispanics if the choose to identify themselves in that manner (there are many Chinese, for example, living in Panama for many generations as a result of canal construction). Then, of course, you have native American (or Indian, depending on your preference and I'm referring to natives from all the way down the American continents).

Hispanics are the peoples who were part of the spanish empire. You're not going to find black and asian hispanics unless their families have lived there since the 18th century. :P
nope.
