Mine

Ahhh... I remember when the game first came out and Engineer was the man to be. I hardly use him at all these days...

Aww, how quaint.

(Note that the sniper and solider's max damage, as well as the medic's high score, are borked, as I made the stupid mistake on playing on a turbo crits server a long time ago. The rest are legit)

Considering I've probably spent a whole 2 hours of gameplay I wouldn't want to show off my stats :(

Pretty sad (or not) considering I've had it since Orange Box was launched

Haha jeez! I've gone without suitable internet for almost a year, and there was another long period before that... but I want to see someone with a longer 'longest life' than me.

108 minutes. Not idle, real server. Orange X3. What an epic match that was.

They must've been incompetent for you to stay alive 108 minutes... o.O even with a rock solid defense. Of course, if they WERE that incompetent, the round wouldn't have lasted that long. Crazy.
2010-06-30, 8:11 AM #7
You could stay alive rather easily in the game if you try hard enough. Only problem really is is finding a map that goes for 108 minutes without ending :P Even the 2fort map I play on only goes for 60 minutes.

I came close to 108 minutes to day I got the Scottish Resistance.

Sit around boys, I'll tell ya the tale...

*campfire* *strums guitar poorly*

The map, was CP_OrangeX3. 'Twas a time before snipers were savages, and spy tech was limited. Long before we had to fear evil sodas or the fated bonking of a baseball from afar. Aye those were indeed the days, two teams, equally matched in a 999minute server. Two teams enter, one team leaves. The battle (literally) waged for hours (4 hours I think) and it was fierce. Points swapping from 1-4 blu, to 2-3, to 4-1, and back and forth it went. Our engineers fought hard to 'hold the line', and hold they did... for the battle was indeed won.... blu emerged the victor.

Mine are here: http://steamcommunity.com/id/Bobbert/stats/TF2

The longest life was the result of an error when switching servers. That time should also be subtracted from my Soldier time.

I play specific teams on different levels. As certain level differences give a strategic edge. 2fort, and orangex3 are perfect examples.

And yea my 'longest life' stat is glitched, I did not last nearly 7hrs on the same life. The 89 kills as engineer is legit, but the other team was being stupid...

So bad.

I tend to stick to mostly vanilla servers, though. Being **** doesn't really help matters.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

I reset my stats every so often so none of them really show what I've done.
Life is beautiful.

Yeah, same here. Had a server with insane healing rate, so I got tons of heal as a medic and tons of backstab damage as a spy... :)

On 2fort if both teams are great at defense and suck at offense, you can end up staying alive a long time as an intel room engine...

I took almost a 2 year "break" from it (I was too busy with WoW) but I've played it a ton this last month.

I'm no Bill Shakespeare, but it looks to me like you got no more than 13 kills with that 108 minute lifespan... whats up with that?

Well well, the only other person alive still holding a KOP tag :D

I would imagine I got assists. I was doing a LOT of running back and forth, keeping teleporters up. Hard to remember every detail that far back.

Usually when a friend and I play, one of us builds a full defense base (one sentry, two dispensers, two teles) and the other tries to push up with their sentry. Which used to work really well, before the sentry got nerfed, and every other class had nice perks. A good engie can even defend against a demoman. I used to whip out the pistol and machine gun (before they limited click times on the pistol) stickies before they were detonated. A few would get by, but nothing my wrench and dual dispensers couldn't fix/heal.

They didn't add click delay to the pistol. They made it so you can simply hold the button down and achieve a ridiculously high fire rate.

I don't recall them ever nerfing the sentry guns either. Besides, most demos don't need/use stickies nowadays. Just pill the engi or his dispensers, reload, and pill the sentry.

That's just flat out wrong. I used to be able to fire an entire clip in about a second. (It's how I got so many building kills using scout). They have definitely nerfed the rate at which you can fire the pistol. It has a max speed now.

The Sentries used to turn faster, they slowed it by some percentage. That's why pyros can run up and flame around it without getting splattered.

Of course it has a max speed now, it's to stop people who were scripting it so it would shoot at superhuman speeds. I'd like to see you consistently fire 12 shots in a second though, I don't believe that one for a second, unless you use both hands :P

Besides, the rate of fire it has now is still ridiculously fast just by holding it down. The scout's pistol won't take down buildings from a distance in a full clip, and if you're able to get close enough to make it work, you're better off using the scattergun. :eng101:

I'd be willing to bet I can hit the mouse button 12+ times in roughly .75-1.5 seconds. 2 seconds on a slow day. I always piss off my friends anytime we play Mario Party because if there's a tapping game, they won't win. Ever.

Same here. I just tense up my wrist and vibrate the **** outta my hand. works as long as I start with my finger on the button.

Can't do 12+ in <1s though. I can empty a pistol in about 2 seconds clicking, but it fire fast enough just holding the button anyway.

Go ahead if you think so.

Keep in mind you can't be flailing your mouse all over as you have to still hit a target, and that you can't use your other hand. Just do it with your usual clicking finger and you tell me if you even get close to 12 a second.

Also, keep in mind that the gun right now shoots at 6 shots a second (that's a whole clip in 2 seconds). If your "slow day" is the same as that thing, I don't think you have much room to complain.
2010-06-30, 1:37 PM #29
Well, right now I'm doing 7.3/s I think I could get to 8.5 in one second. A bit slower than I expected, but that would put me at 17clicks in 2 seconds. I like that link by the way, I've got a friend who taps the same way I do, and now I can see if I'm actually better than him or not. :D

Now I'm going to be obsessed trying to get my 12. I think I can do it. Will have to give it another shot later today if I can. I'm supposed to be moving furniture... in the rain... :suicide:

Thanks CM!

I got 12 pretty quickly by using my index and middle fingers alternating...used to do that all the time for these click-speed dependent things. Still lets you keep your mouse control pretty decent, too.

You must have a really really big mouse 1 button.

It's...pretty normal sized. Can you not fit two fingers on the corners of the button?

Not even close, I'd have to turn my mouse sideways. (I have an MX518 if anyone was going to ask)

One finger

9.78 per over 9 seconds

You can shoot faster if you map primary fire to the mousewheel and just spin away. My brother used to do that with pistols in CS.
