This thread got past the obvious in the first few posts.

My point exactly.

Allow me to add one piece of honest advice..

Don't hit your brother. One day he might possibly not be around, and you'll regret everything you've ever done to him and want to punch the **** out of yourself.

Take it from someone that's lost a brother.

My condolences, for whatever they're worth =[

So. Here's a situation and reaction. I'm trying to defend my actions to my family but they are flipping out and are like "you never hit family blah blah blah"

I sit down in the living room with my computer. I grab the remote and turn on the TV. After a few minutes, my by brother goes up to the TV since I have the remote, and just starts changing channels.

ME... "Um..I was watching TV"
HIM..."No, you're using your computer"

me"No, I'm doing both ****head. You do it all the time as well"
him"Well, Too bad"

*I use the remote to change it back to the channel I was watching*
*He continues to channel surf*

me "Are you ****ing serious?"
him "yup"

*5 minute debate about how I was watching TV and he should stop changing channels. Oh, btw, he covers up the infrared so I can't use the remote*

"If you keep this up you'll regret it"

*he continues*

So I throw a punch. In the face of course. I wanna make it hurt.

Now my whole family is *****ing about how I'm a little ****head.

UM. OKAY. He's the ****head that just goes up to a TV someone is watching, covers up the infared so they can't use the remote, and flips channels for 5 minutes. No, not just change it and try to watch something different. CHANNEL SURFING. FOR SEVERAL MINUTES.

When verbal debate fails, what the hell else are you supposed to do? Be a little ***** and walk away because you're brother is a giant cock? NOPE.

I can't recall how many times he's pounded my ass for being a little ****.

Now I finally do it to him, and it's a big deal.

RANT.

yea, I got rage issues.

Leaving tips to sucky ass waiters, changing my channel. FRAK.

He's 27. I think he'd be a little more mature than that.

Hard to tell if this is justified. None of the paragraphs go over more than two lines.
Sorry for the lousy German

I think you and your big brother should go do some full-contact martial arts. It'll help with the agression, and, IMO, is more userful than counseling if it's agression that you have problems with. Not that counseling would hurt, mind you.

Thank you. But I wasn't looking for condolences. :) I always like to point this out when siblings get into a fight. Just step back for a minute and honestly think about what would happen if you lost them, because seriously, you don't know what it's like.

Is it really worth it all over something as trivial as who gets to watch the tv?

If your (SK's) brother was dead it'd all be yours. Now, that's a nice thought, isn't it? Makes that punch seem all the more worthwhile, hmm?

Amen Dalf! If you had punched him in the shoulder, that would be one thing. But you punched him in the face to teach him a lesson? I would be annoyed with both of you for acting like 5 year olds, but I can totally understand your family for reacting badly to you PUNCHING him in the FACE over the TV.

Again, unless I'm reading something wrong in the sequence of his posts, it appears he did get punched back and then admonished by his family. Talk about a lose-lose.

Yeah, my initial post was about that too. I even suggested doing an arm twist instead.
Punching someone in the face for being annoying is overboard, no matter how stupid they are being.

If you think the waiters are rude, you should see the manager.

That said, a lot of the posts were about West-Virginians and Lord of the Rings

Ok, I admit it. I laughed.
Why do the heathens rage behind the firehouse?

They should've both been made to go outside and settle it like men!

I'm late.

I'd have chloroformed him/choked him out, scoured the house for belts, and he would have woken up in a tree.
