w/ or w/ you
2010-07-19, 10:03 AM #1
Dis 1 go out 2 those of u dat be hatin' cuz of da way I be typin'.

Quote:
See the stone set in your eyes
See the thorn twist in your side
I wait for you

Sleight of hand and twist of fate
On a bed of nails she makes me wait
And I wait w/o you

w/ or w/o you
w/ or w/o you

Through the storm we reach the shore
You give it all but I want more
And I'm waiting for you

w/ or w/o you
w/ or w/o you
I can't live
w/ or w/o you

And you give yourself away
And you give yourself away
And you give
And you give
And you give yourself away

My hands are tied
My body bruised, she's got me with
Nothing to win and
Nothing left to lose

And you give yourself away
And you give yourself away
And you give
And you give
And you give yourself away

w/ or w/o you
w/ or w/o you
I can't live
w/ or w/o you

w/ or w/o you
w/ or w/o you
I can't live
w/ or w/o you
w/ or w/o you

P.S. Get over it.
? :)

why would you even want to write with as w/... it doesn't make sense
2010-07-19, 12:11 PM #9
It makes sense when you order a burger w/cheese ... that's about the extent of it's usefulness.

that's not saying "cheeseburger" is easier... har

If you think the waiters are rude, you should see the manager.

Why would you want to use a contraction (e.g: "doesn't" instead of "does not")?
? :)

Wouldn't a human computer (a Mentat) be more likely to use shorthand when they're typing/writing taking syntax from various programming languages in to consideration (e.g: "int" instead of "integer")?
? :)

No.

:colbert:
nope.
2010-07-19, 1:50 PM #17
That no has 1 too many letters. I think I would've understood your meaning had you just replied w/ an "N".

2010-07-19, 3:09 PM #28
Boco, would you care to join me and Mentat for a little "just friends" spooning?
2010-07-19, 3:34 PM #29
Surely the 3rd spoon would be a ladle?
nope.
2010-07-19, 3:39 PM #30
If the spoons are made for each other, you can cup an infinite number of them together in a long, no homo line.

P.S. Contractions are written to convey a conversational tone; you use contractions in speech. Unless you're actually walking around saying "w/" to people in place of the word "with", the two are not really comparable. :)

explain to me why you use w/ instead of with... moving your hand over to the '/' sign takes the same amount of time as typing 'ith' with two hands... Don't compare it to contractions like 'don't', 'wouldn't' or anything like that. Because they are linguistically legal. '/' is not...

2 characters vs 3. Your theory only works if you're a hobbyist typer.
