I have it but I don't really use it as a primary nor secondary account. I use both emails equally?
nope.

I have like 20-30 GMail accounts... but primarily use like one or two. In fact, most of those accounts have their mail redirected to my primary one.

Oh to be young and register GMail accounts for funsies, storage and different forums. Huh.

I have three Gmail accounts, with one that I use as my main email. In fact, after making that account, I started moving all of my info to it from my old Hotmail account which is now defunct. Don't use any other providers now.

I forward everything from my other email accounts to my Gmail. For the most part, I'm not going to champion Gmail as the ULTIMATE EXPERIENCE, but there isn't anything wrong with the service I can complain about.

I have a gmail account, but all its email is forwarded to my other address. I never use GMail itself, still not a fan of web applications for such things.

Even my mother uses gmail

I have no problem with it considering it's easier to use and has better features than any conventional e-mail client I've ever used.

I have a Gmail account. Considering it's one of the original @gmail.com accounts, it gets inundated with spam. Fortunately, I never get any of it.
Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

I don't exactly need a ton of features, but Thunderbird seems to do much of the same.

I'm not saying GMail is bad. I'm saying that it's the fact that it's stuck in my browser. I don't like the idea of:

1. No notifications.
2. If Firefox or Chrome crashes, GMail's gone with it.
3. It's slower due to page loads and such, even though Google tries hard to avoid them.
4. Workarounds/deprecated features required to make it appear as a separate program on the taskbar. I really don't like it being another tab in my browser, I forget about it and it takes up space.

GMail notifier?

I got the bosses at work to let me switch our work email to gmail for organizations, so I use gmail for work and personal.

True, but that solves only one problem and, if I'm already running an application for notifications, why not a whole client? :P

Also, the one other thing that is HUGELY important to me is the ability to go through messages and read them on the same screen. And I haven't seen a way to make GMail do this (at least without some extensions). Basically, the "preview pane" that you see in full email clients.

Man, CM, you're an odd guy. You're all super-keen on browser-based file backups but you simply MUST have your e-mails on your hard drive. :P

I use iGoogle as my home page.

I have our gmail accounts setup as pop3 on our desktop and imap on the other computers. I also use google calendar sync on all of our computers so outlook events "magically" sync to all machines.

I use gmail for everything that isn't official or serious. For that stuff I use my school account. I think it works great.

I use gmail for most serious stuff. It's the one that's linked to my phone, so I use my hotmail from a million years ago for anything I don't want to get notifications about over my phone, like Amazon and Pizza Boli's and such. So all in all, I use them about equally.

You can use Thunderbird for your Gmail.

I use gmail. My work used to use gmail as well, but we got acquired and now we use ****ING EXCHANGE which is the ****tiest piece of **** in the whole world. I like having my main email on the web because I access it from everywhere and it's easy. I think someone could improve upon gmail but it's good enough for me.

I have a gmail, which one day I'll make my primary, but I too use my hotmail account of a bajillion years ago as my primary because it's fine for my purposes and I've been too lazy to set up for it to transfer to gmail.

I've been using Yahoo! Mail for over a decade... No reason to change, e-mail isn't that important to me. I also have a work e-mail that some things go to.

I think Exchange itself is pretty fantastic, and allows for a bunch of cool stuff like integration with calendars and IM and all that. Outlook however, is a piece of junk.

I have 3 email accounts. I have a gmail account for personal things, a gmail account for professional things, and my school account, which is still active despite my having graduated.

Zecks you need to milk every academic offer while you still can. Like a year of free Amazon Prime.

On that note, I still have access to my academic MSDN account provided by my old department. I transferred out in 2007 and my account has never closed. The sysadmin is kinda spacey so I'm hoping to get free swag for years to come.

Dropbox isn't really browser based. It runs on your systems, and works on the filesystem. The web interface is basically just a backup if you're at a public computer or something. Essentially how I use my email too, since I do have a webmail system if I need it.

And it's not about it being on the hard drive, really. Although I do have it sync it all down even though it's IMAP, since I like it to be super-fast :P

Also, yes, Spectrael, I know you can use it via IMAP/POP3 or whatever. But I already have a setup I am perfectly happy with that works on all my email clients :P There's just literally nothing that GMail offers that I don't already have, or just don't really want. (And did I mention PREVIEW PANE :( )

If I didn't have a webserver of my own to use, I would use GMail. But I do, so I won't. I'm sure Jon`C will find that funny though :P

I like that I no longer need to setup my ISP email accounts. I can permanently use the same email addresses, integrate them all with Outlook, and also have the convenience of checking them on any internet enabled computer. I also like that "@gmail.com" seems much more professional than "@hotmail.com", "@yahoo.com", etc but that is sort of an arbitrary opinion. I also keep important documents and data on Google Docs.
