America FAQ
2010-10-11, 1:00 AM #1
Is America really the best place there is?

There is a certain amount of scholarly debate on this topic, but any anthropologist worth their money will say yes.

What about the other Americas? South America, Central America? Why is America America better?

One must consider the fact that those areas aren't America. The confusion is understandable as those places have America in their names. The most apparent distinctive quality is that they are much worse.

What about Indians? Are they more American than the others?

Native Americans, as they are now called, were originally trying to prevent America from becoming great, but after great efforts they became more receptive to the American way of life. Modern Native Americans are generally poor, but there are some who have adapted surprisingly well and found wealth by running casinos. Most Americans today will claim a portion of Native American heritage, especially of the Cherokee tribe, possibly as a nod to what America was built upon.

I hear all these things about the founding fathers of America. Can you tell me more about them?

The founding fathers were a group of virtuous people who shared the dream of a better world, a world where people are equal, free and happy. A world where people are free of oppression and tyranny, a world where man is not judged by who he appears to be, but who he is.

Does that mean Martin Luther King was a founding father?

No.

I'm thinking of going to America, what do I need to know about their currency?

The money is called the United States Dollar. As a general rule of thumb, it is worth more than your currency.

Dear Krokodile, I am black. Can I still go to America?

Generally speaking, yes. However, discretion is advised; I cannot recommend that you try to do things like lean against someone else's property, walk near white people (especially once it is dark outside), or apply for jobs. If you know your limits and comply with the local authority, you should be fine.

There's this really cool and talented actor I like. Where can I see and talk to these people?

There are certain places where these people, called celebrities, are kept. One area in particular, which is Hollywood in Los Angeles, California, has perhaps the single greatest collection of celebrities that you can observe and attempt to interact with. Be careful, however, as some of these Americans you see in movies are actually British.

What is America's relationship with guns? Will I need one there?

In America, firearms are an essential tool of everyday life. They are viewed in much the same way as nail clippers, for instance: you'll be wanting to own one for personal reasons, and you can kill people with either if you point and shoot (as in the case of guns) or clip several times really hard (nail clippers). The easiest way for you to obtain a gun is through a street vendor.

What do Americans think about religion?

God is one of the most important aspects of life in America. God protects and guides America, which gives America an edge over all other countries. From time to time there are attempts to take God away from America, and to replace Him with either a false god (of which the claim that it is actually the same God is a good warning sign) or even more alarming, no god at all. Experts agree that the main objective of these attempts is for other countries to strip America of this great competitive advantage.

What is the best way to travel within America?

The most convenient way to get around is in a large personal vehicle, such as an SUV or a truck. This will enable you to have a lot of room while on the road, especially if you are travelling alone, and in the best case scenario you will be driving a larger vehicle than someone trying to pass you, or someone you might accidentally crash into. It is not recommended that you attempt to walk anywhere.

In what kind of standing is the American military?

The military is the sharp sword and the tough shield of America. It is among the most celebrated entities that Americans associate with their nation, a status earned by going from one victory to the next as it protects America's interests at home and abroad. The reasons for resorting to military action may be varied, but they are always in the interest of doing the right thing whether it be preventing communism (Vietnam), overthrowing a rogue regime that is likely to possess weapons of mass destruction that they are willing to use against America (Iraq), or killing all the terrorists and ensuring that they cannot make new terrorists (Afghanistan).
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

Dear Krokodile,

America finds this FAQ to be very offensive. Please remove it from the internet(which we created).

Thank you,

Thanks, Kroko! I feel much more prepared for my trip to D.C. now! Tell me, what is the customary greeting between two Americans?

No it's actually a great cynical exaggeration (but not imaginary) of the message America sends to the rest of the world about itself.

This is genius, and should be put on a blog and followed by a book deal. If Stuff White People Like can do it, you can too.

Not exactly. Again, I'm talking in absolutes. But if I'm switching on my television and watch any random show from America (I'm not talking movies here, I'm talking about talk-shows, presidential speeches, documentaries etc.) I always see people saluting to the American flag, telling how great the American army is, how black people/free health care/guns are ruining the country.
There is a certain extent in which nationalism and patriotism reach chauvinism. And even that is fine with me. Even chauvinism has a positive effect on a country. The thing I'm seeing is pure indoctrination.
Let me clarify once more: I'm not saying you, or, with the exception of a few, other massassians are like this. But this is the message I'm getting from America.
And finally, to answer your sarcastic reply: This is the message I receive through all modern means of communication.

Fair enough but if you judge America by what you see on TV then I need say no more.

You people that live outside the US that post this crap are no better than the Americans that push this so called message out. Do you see me starting topics picking on other countries? No because A.) I don't give a **** and B.) I have better things to do and C.) I think as humans we need to get over races/religions/regions and become one nation, but this will obviously never happen until at least religion is out of the way.

I don't find Kroko's post offensive, or funny. Better keep your day job. What is funny, is FGR probably eats more fast food burgers than anyone else here.

Way to sound like the cliche Kroko was joking about.

But seriously, this thread is pretty much a Stephen Colbert rip-off, if you take it seriously and get offended then it sucks to be you. Here in massassi, we've made fun of all countries, we do so because we're friends (a lot of us are anyway), we joke around, we tease. The Finns just sit in the snow, the Aussies are upside down and filled with giant spiders... and that's just a couple of small examples.
You don't like joke threads, fine, but just know that you basically have two options, ignore it or become part of it. You've become part of it, enjoy!
