I don't remember, it's been so long. IIRC, he did something stupid, got a temporary ban, then evaded the ban, which resulted in permanent bans. And he's evaded about 20 times since.

But banhammer month ended on the ninth!

Also, I like how admins used to link to the offending post and add "USER WAS BANNED FOR THIS POST" as a warning to others. Kind of like hanging a dead pirate at the harbor entrance with a sign reading "PIRATE."
