Do you own your name's domain name?

Thanks for a second opinion, CM.

What do you guys think is best hosting solution to use for a series of WP powered sites running custom tempaltes? I'd like to save as much time as possible installing them.

Im not sure I understand the question. Wordpress on its own is a 5 minute install anyway (probably less). I think you can also run one main wordpress install and manage smaller sites with it. Let me go check their site.

Yeah WP probably doesn't even take that long to setup (Just need php/mysql which is pretty standard as far as linux hosting goes), and yes you can run multiple domains with one WP install.

Here's my obligatory "I do offer hosting" post.

Brian may not have a use for it (although I already have postgreSQL and can install CPAN modules) but I could help you, Koobie. :P

I'd actually be installing my own perl from source + it's own set of cpan modules so as not to interfere with the system perl. Linux distros often use and/or package really old versions of cpan modules and if you install newer ones it can break built-in tools. So best practice is to install your own perl in a separate directory and use that. It's actually remarkably easy although I've never gone through an upgrade cycle.

I don't own my name domain, although a friend of mine boughtbit, saying I might beed it sometime down the road, despite my protests.

I'm a fairly private person, so wouldn't want my name domain. Plus I don't know the first thing about making or managing a site.

Thank you, I will consider this.

I am also going to try the 14 day Squarespace trial this weekend to see how flexible it is. Should be fun.

Looks perfect, Emon, have you used them?

Personally no, but a good friend of mine uses it for his business and loves it. Always heard good things in general about it from the OSS community as well.
