Tibby also took the quote out of context.
2 Peter 3:8
"But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day."
And it isn't the only verse in the Bible that compares a day to a thousand years as a means to illustrate how God exists outside of time.
Palsm 90:4
"For a thousand years in your sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night."
Another problem is that you can't pick and choose when to take the Bible at face. Did Jesus wander the wilderness for 40 days or 40,000 years? To create the flood did it rain for 40 days and 40 nights, or 40,000 days and nights?
And then there's Matthew 24:36
"Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither angels of heavens nor Son, but only Father."
Then to take this further, there is nothing written that says the Rapture will be the end of the world. First is the Rapture itself, when the 144,000 chosen are lifted to Heaven. Then come the 7 years (or is that 7,000?) of Tribulations, after which God descends to Earth to take his place among the people who maintained their faith throughout the Tribulations.
Nowhere in the book does it explicitly mention a rapture. It's all conjecture based on a few verses of the Bible. The book of Revelations is meant to be a prophecy for the time immediately after said rapture.
This just goes to show how misguided the people who spread panic about the impending doom of the Rapture really are. None of them actually understand what they're saying because they've been misled by people out for their own gain.
