Warning, language. Oh, and "spoiler".

Yeah, but who really went into Spiderman, Ironman, Hulk, Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Elektra, Blade, Punisher, etc. wondering if we would see a cameo of him? Even considering his first appearance was in a hulk book I never wondered if I'd see him in any hulk movie.

A (more than) cameo in Captain America would be awesome.

maybe there are 2 versions in theaters (maybe a regional type thing) but i saw the movie not a low quality clip on youtube and he said very clearly "**** off"

and i'm not the only person who heard him say "**** off"

Not happening because Captain America is made by Marvel Studios. FOX still holds the X-Men rights (and they're trying hard to hold on to it), which includes Wolverine.

Agreed, that's what I heard as well.

Yeah, pretty sure everyone who heard (or imagines that they heard) "**** off" is wrong. I can't find any legitimate corroboration for it.
If you think the waiters are rude, you should see the manager.

Of course they're wrong. I already linked to a video of the cameo.

because it's not possible that more than one version of that short scene was shot and with the film edited and distributed digitally it's not like it could easily have 2 versions...

since if you think about it some people would be way more offended by "go **** yourselves" than "**** off" and that the percentage of such people may be higher in some areas

if they can go to pizza hut in demolition man in some parts of the world instead of taco bell then wolverine can say **** off instead of go **** yourselves

so wookie and mikemac... go **** yourselves and **** off

They had pizza hut in some demolition man versions? Awesome!

yeah they dubbed over all mention of taco bell and edited most of the logos (they missed a couple small ones) for certain parts of the world where taco bell didn't exist but pizza hut did

I recently had someone on Xbox Live send me a message that said "go **** yourself".
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

Which is weird because we don't have Taco Bell here yet it's still Taco Bell in the film.
nope.

Just saw it, enjoyed it very much, Where was Stan Lee's cameo?

I was going to be upset if Hugh Jackman had a cameo with the thought that the producers don't feel the franchise can exist without any sort of involvement from him (despite the fact I didn't think X-Men Origins: Wolverine was good for the most part) but after I saw it I laughed and was relieved it wasn't something super lame
2011-06-06, 6:44 PM #59
Stan Lee doesn't have cameos in X Men because it's not a Marvel Studios film. 20th Century Fox owns the rights to X Men and at the moment, they and Marvel Studios are being a bunch of ********s toward each other.

EDIT: And why wouldn't you have Wolverine in there? He's probably the most popular comic book character ever. It would seem like you were just trying to make the X Men movie without Wolverine if you didn't include him. Not to mention it's basically a proven point now that Wolverine sells these movies since this is the first one to not feature him in a prominent role and it had the lowest opening weekend grosses.

If I knee jerked I would correct you on Stan Lee cameos in Xmen films but I'm sure you meant this film. I think he's only had two cameos in five xmen films. Sad.

Wolverine has been my favorite character since the 80s but I think spiderman or superman would take the honors for most popular ever.

I do think it's kind of funny they just sort of ignored the appearances of Emma Frost and Moira MacTaggert in the previous movies and the continuity issues this movie creates because of them. Somehow Emma Frost gets younger over time and Moira MacTaggert doesn't age that much over like 35 years. That and the continuity issues they introduce with Xavier.

Not that I still didn't like the movie, cause I did, I just found those issues kind of funny.

The oddest part is he's listed as an executive producer on all of the films because of his hand in creating the series, in addition to the fact that he pretty much runs Marvel, even though he had almost nothing to do with the films at all.

I would have thought Spiderman or Superman, too... But generally speaking when actual fans are left to decide on these things instead of a bunch of dip**** magazine editors, Wolverine comes out on top pretty often. Spiderman and Superman are more recognizable I think, but that mainly has to do with them having been around about twice as long as Wolverine.

So there you have it, as always, depending on which story you read, one of us is right.

From what I recall, Stan Lee tweeted that he couldn't catch a flight on such short notice to film a cameo, so that's why it wasn't included. I don't think there were any politcs involved, just a scheduling conflict.

Yeah but you have to admit it's a bit odd that he has showed up in every single Marvel Studios production, but the non Marvel Studios ones see no Stan Lee.

It depends on which interpretation of the comics you buy into. The canon I'm familiar with it is it a side effect of his powers, but in ultimates he had a steel pipe lodged through his spine.

The most widely accepted reason for Xavier's legs is an alien named Lucifer that dropped a large stone block on him after Charles interfered with his invasion plans. It's his baldness that has to do with his mutant abilities.

This is not the only story, but it is, near as I can tell, the original.

I'm glad they added a new story for that. This guy dropping a rock on Xavier's legs in revenge is a horrible story.

I was thinking more about the general population. Wolverine has been a fan favorite for a long time. There's a reason Marvel slapped him on the cover of practically every book, after all. Wolverine has certainly moved higher in popularity with the general population over the last decade.

I think it has a lot to do with Hugh Jackman. There is nothing that man does not do well.

I remember the 'side effect' explanation too, although my source would be the 'Xmen: The Animated Series' the 90's cartoon. I remember an episode in which Xavier and Magneto are transported somewhere and have their mutant abilities nullified. Stripped of his telepathic abilities, he regained the use of his legs.
