Stupid work situations

You've painted a whole country as being reverse racist and to prove it shown a documentary that is completely unreflective of the situation there.

There are problems with the quotas, professional limitations and race-related benefits but the overwhelming problem of race-related crippling poverty is the humungous elephant in the room that you're ignoring.

Current job is ok, but I used to work in accounts receivables when I was about 22. Our invoices were sometimes 10's of pages, wouldn't contain all the invoiced amounts, and were reasonably unintelligible. This was before we picked up the extra work moved to us from downstairs. After that it turned into a mess, customers complaining all the time, sales staff screwing up invoices and having to work 2-3 extra hours each day to get everything done. Any problems taken to our manager went nowhere, he spent a third of the day shut in his office and and third of the day disappearing off around the building. The girl I worked with had a minor breakdown and went awol for a month, leaving me with a part-timer and a polite, but incompetent temp. At that point I decided I must have really done something bad in a previous life to have earned this. Eventually I quit, as did two other staff at the same time, and another who was meant to be a replacement did also.

The first definition I gave that you so tactfully misquoted was in
Reference to reverse racism as perceived in the United States. The second part which you cunningly left out, referred to literal reverse racism found in the video I posted.

+1 for the attempted misquote though. You should get into law.

You realise you're arguing about racism in South Africa with a South African, right?
nope.

No. But I don't really care about the actual racism in south Africa as much as I did the misquote. Also I was merely using it as an example of reverse racism, not stating that SA is some horrid backwards country with terrible ethnic issues. Honestly I used it for a two second example, not a subject lesson. To say that there isn't racism in SA is ignorant, resident or not. There's plenty of people like jedikirby who live in the US and are ignorant of domestic issues, as clearly displayed.

BTW baco I'm not trying to blow smoke up your ass, your good in my book :v:

Nobody cares about racism. We care about you using the term 'reverse racism', which is idiotic. You only think the term has any value because you are racist.
2011-06-14, 4:00 PM #51
Reverse Racism doesn't exist, it's just racism.
2011-06-14, 4:01 PM #52
Just on topic, I ****ing love my job, and the people I work for.

That actually makes me both happy and sad for Baconfish. Happy because he's good in your book, and sad because now he has nothing to achieve that wouldn't pale in comparison, so achieving anything will no longer feel like it means much of anything.
Looks like we're not going down after all, so nevermind.

... I'd like to know how I'm clearly ignorant of domestic issues because I don't think white people on the internet that complain about reverse racism are at all in a comparable situation to minority groups that actually experience racism. Yes, there are white people that experience actual racism, and AA isn't an example. The theory of reverse racism by favoring a group over another is used by people who are particularly ignorant of the domestic issues, as you just said. The black people in that example aren't the minority, they're the majority.

Well I've only been here for two days but I can tell you about a situation my friend had on his team today. In the morning they went on a tour to a chocolate factory. After that they went to bars and got hammered as a team building exercise. Then went back to the office to sober up before driving home.

If you are directing this insult at me, which I am assuming you because I started the initial topic of reverse racism, then I am going to deny your claims. I am not racist, I have friends of a great variety of races/religions, from asian, african american, white, lebanese, arabian. I think they are brilliant people.

I use the term reverse racism because of the reasoning behind the actions of the people I work with. I once inquired one of my co-workers who frequently calls me "whiteboy" "whitey" and other names about why he does this. His reasoning is that because since our ancestors did terrible things to his ancestors over so many generations, he can, quote: "DO WHATEVER HE WANTS TO WHITE FOLK TO MAKE UP FOR THOSE CRIMES". So, he is being racist because he feels he is the victim of racism. Doesn't that fit the definition of reverse racism perfectly?

You want to know what I am prejudice against? Ghetto culture, white, black, hispanic, I don't care what you are, I don't like that ****. These people from the deep inner city of Buffalo treat everyone terribly for no reason where I work just because they are "victims"

No. You aren't. Stop selling drugs to pay for your stereo system, your new rims, I see that **** everyday. Go to ****ing school. I don't sympathize at all. There is no excuse why most of them can't improve their condition. My father was one of nine children in a household ran by a terrible hate filled marriage, dropped out of college, but educated himself in computer networking to running all the IT departments in the country for a company based in Florida where he lives now making well over 6 figures. His friend from vietnam that he met in college came over on a boat while being shot at and he didn't speak a word of English with just the clothes on his back. Where is he now? He worked his ****ing ass off and lives in California as a wealthy business man who spends weekend after weekend enjoying himself at Las Vegas.

These ghetto trash people I work with constantly...CONSTANTLY pick on me for being "a little geeky college kid" these pathetic ****ing people who don't know what an atom is, or who ask me how a toaster works, or who believe that dinosaur bones are rearranged human bones to give the illusion of a monster.

**** them, I don't care, once I fight for my degree I won't take one look back. Most of these people, NOT ALL, definately earn their place as being left behind by survival of the fitess. I love evolution. I love capitalism. I hate ghetto trash, so yes, thats my prejudice, but I am NOT racist. I will not let YOU, or any of THEM convince me that I am to hide the truth of the real problem here.

HEY GUYS! REMEMBER WHEN THIS THREAD WAS ABOUT CRAPPY WORK SITUATIONS?

If you want to debate racism go make a new thread. Any further conversation on this thread in regards to what racism is/isn't is bannable.

A country where a huge underclass of very ignorant, uneducated, people whose social culture is now basically non-existent are trying to integrate into a first world society? Good luck with that.

Here's a stupid work situation: 2 companies ignoring my application for an entry level hourly job any idiot can do. I mean...come on. What could possibly be on my application that they wouldn't like? I've even got related experience, which most people don't. My friend who has the SAME related experience got an interview immediately and had the job within a week of sending the application. He totally deserves it, too, but I don't even get an interview?

K, done venting! Just a little annoyed. It's probably because the job involves driving and I slid down an icy hill and rear-ended someone this winter.

Job annoyance time:

When your boss gets pissed at you because the tools used by the previous employee for your job are broken pieces of **** and its his responsibility to replace them. Also when he complains about how busy he is but sits there trying to Jerry rig a broken piece of equipment when an alternative piece exists that will suffice.. and still gets pissed at you.
