What was your first PC game?
2003-12-29, 8:26 PM #1
Mine was Rebel Assault. It came with my computer in 1995. My second game would be Day of the Tentacle, which also came with my computer, but due to lack of memory, I never played it until much later when I made a bootdisk for it. (I just love how most of the old DOS games came with bootdisk instructions).

The first game I actually bought was TIE Fighter. It was an excellent choice. I also ended up getting Descent, Doom II, and an old submarine game for DOS that really kicked *** . From there on, it just exploded and after we bought our Pentium 2, I could actually play most games for once.

Well, if minesweeper and such don't count...then I suppose it would have been either Reader Rabbit or

...dang I can't even remember the name!? The star wars one where you're a rebel guy, The first level you're in a B-wing, the second is running around shooting imps in an imp facility, the third is escaping in a millenium falcon-type ship, the fourth is, I think, X-wing in an asteroid field, the fifth you fly around in a facility in the asteroid field...and I remember some later missions involved flying a tie-fighting in canyons, riding swoop bikes in jungles, meeting a woman on a planet who you team up with, then you get stuck in like a giant imp space station with cloaking X-fighter thingies...and then you have to escape that place/fly out, then you have to shoot all the cloaking x-fighter thingies in space after you fly out... And I don't remember the name. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]

Anyone remember this PC game?

I'm going to go out and do stuff, like besides work. Call up ben, hang out. Maybe see the last samurai, go skydiving, whatever.
Get back into the gym...
I want to do stuff that prevents me from playin video games so I can only play them a few hours a day, basically.

Yeah, that's Rebel Assault 2.

The first games I ever had were VB Snakes, Artillery, and Oregon Trail (the text one where you had to type "bang" at the proper time in order to shoot).

The various DOS games that came with my first computer, such as Dangerous Dave, Commander Keen, and Prince Of Persia, to name a few from the many.

The very first game I actually bought was Doom II. Now that was a very happy day.

The first PC game I've ever played... I believe that it was am old DOS game called Captain Comic... I think it was made by Apogee... THAT was the maker of games then... comic was followed by games such as the original Duke Nukem... That was a million years ago, in 1990. I didn't start playing SW games untill I got DF in around 1997...

First game I bought was the full version of Highway Hunter a scrolling shooter published by Epic Megagames.

First game I played over a network was Warcraft II, and the first game I played against people I'd never met over the internet was LEC's Outlaws *sigh*. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

There are so many...I can't remember what was the first. I bought PC games every chance I got back in the day. I still have almost every one of them. Unfortunately, I threw away the BIG pile of boxes one day. I regret it now. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]

I dug out some CDs:

Syndicate, Pirates!, various Lucasarts adventures, Little Big Adventure, Pinball Dreams (floppy disk), Dragonlore, Megarace, Police Quest, Fade To Black, Rebel Assault, TekWar, Shellshock, Rise of the Triad, Big Red Racing, Command & Conquer, Return To Zork (this one came on a big bunch of floppy disks) Jazz Jackrabbit, Alien Trilogy, Theme Park, Battlezone, Jagged Alliance: Deadly Games, Colonization, Worms...

Memories. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

It was either Flanker or A10-Cuba. Their huge map sizes were incredible. It could take ages to cross them, even at supersonic speed! I spent countless hours exploring and bombing everything in them. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

Silpheed was probably my very first, or one of those Fischer Price games, like the fire truck one.

Among my other early games were many mentioned above. Hillsfar we got with Heros of the Lance and Dragons of the Flame in a three pack, also Prince of Persia and a bunch of small ones I got from a friend.

Various games for the Commodore64 (most I can't remember). My friend and I were collecting, copying and selling the 5 1/2" floppies. Niether one of us had a computer. We would use the one either at Radio Shack or at the school.

After that it was BMX and mischief until another one of my friends talked me into buying JK for the computer I finally bought.
I was thinking, 'Why would anyone spend $2500 (that's how much my P200MMX with 16MB EDO RAM cost in 1997) on a computer just to play video games?'
Heh...

Thanks Mark (my friend) and JK!!

Oy...
My first PC-PC (IE x86 Based system) game was Wing Commander 2.

As for first PC (IE any personal Computer)...
God, ive been playing computer games since I was born (literally, when I was born my parents were traveling from computer trade show to computer trade show selling software) I was probably banging on a Commodore 64 before I could walk, and had my own personal Apple 2e before the age of 5...
I guess that makes me really pathetic...
