Besides, the wiimote is the best gamepad for a pc.

Logitech F310 or w/e, it works as an old-school gamepad, and directly as a 360 pad via a switch.
I also own a 5 dollar PS2 controller - PC thing.

I play all videogames using a Rock Band 2 drum set. It's easily the best way to play first person shooters.

In all seriousness, I used to play Tekken 4 with a dance mat at uni. I could beat my housemates, who in fairness were crap at it.

Suddenly I want to see if that could work for an old FPS like Doom. One pad hits forwards, the other back, the other two to turn in either direction and the kick pedal to fire.

Meh, I don't use a game pad, I use a magnetized needle on an old hdd disk that I hooked up to a USB cord. I just put the raw 1's and 0's on the disk in a neat and orderly fashion and then send the raw input to the computer directly. It gets annoying though because sometimes the game thinks I am using an aim-bot and kicks me off.

I never said anything about using hands :P I actually either use my toes when I am really bored or else I forgo the needle and use my brain waves to magnetize the platter.

I'm so hot my son pointed at a picture of Brad Pitt and said "daddy". He did also do it with a picture of Tom Selleck in Magnum PI though.

Hell yeah, i used to play Tony Hawk using the dance mats, thinking it would be like virtual skateboarding. It wasn't.
