Vintage computer parts.

It wasn't to sound snobby. It's just my want for things to not get broken.
I can't wait for the day schools get the money they need, and the military has to hold bake sales to afford bombs.

I would actually seriously consider restoring an old dot matrix printer and a computer to hook it up to for no reason other than to listen to its sweet, grating music.
I'm just a little boy.

Hey, I had a GeForce 2............. MX. :(

Same except it's in that computer right now.
It isn't so bad.

Why would you think I would break things considering my love of using them?

To me, a vintage computer is something that nobody really knows how to program anymore.

Pentium 3 is still the default settings for the Visual C++ 2012 optimizer.

Agreed, but what else am I supposed to call a Pentium 3? Archaic?

Yeah, I'm actually going to get an adapter and plug the Okidata into my current machine. Inkjet printers piss me off so much. I may also do the same with the ImageWriterII, since it actually can print in color. I'd be sacrificing print resolution... but I could still use the inkjet if I need it.

that didn't even exist when i was in high school (ok the P3 was first introduced when i was in high school and the GF2 as well... but i was almost out of high school)... Pentium 2 and a Voodoo 2 was pretty epic back then

In Elementary School I used Apple III's and TRS-80's.
In Middle School it was PCjr's.
In High School it was mostly 286's.
In College I had a 486-sx33, which I upgraded to a DX4-100.

College was basically 4 years of playing Doom with class interrupting.

I'm old.
My favorite JKDF2 h4x:

My first 'gaming' PC was a Pentium II. 400 mhz. 128mb RAM. 16mb Riva TNT. It was amazing.

When V92 modems were supposed to be the "next big thing" in dial-up.

A 16mb TNT? Jesus christ must've been a monster. I have a TNT2 that "only" has 16.

I got bit with this bug 5 or so years ago... I built a mad computer with old bits. Here are the specs from memory:

Intel N440BX Motherboard
2x Intel PII 400mhz Cpu's
2x Voodoo 2 12mb Cards in SLI
1x Creative Sound Blaster Awe64 (ISA BUS)
Take that there and put it in here
