Holy hell. I know I'm reviving a couple-month old thread, but I just need to contribute.
I really, really appreciate the comments made about me, and I'm amazed that they're generally good ones. It's no question that my past here has been rocky.. to put it lightly. I started modding when I was 13, and I spent the majority of my teenage years here (ie: blunder years). You guys helped me grow up, and I can't thank you enough for it. Sorry it was so rough.
JediKirby: Water under the bridge.
I might actually thank you for that (the idea at least, can't say I remember the execution very well), because if it wasn't for getting shot down, I wouldn't have tried to improve to meet your expectations. I never did finish the level, but I tried and I learned a few things doing it.
Jon`C: I can't tell you how shocked and humbled I am to hear positive praise from you, especially after the "mutual blow-up" (as you eloquently put it) which I was sure killed my reputation. Which again, I'm sorry about. I have to say if it wasn't for you and the other members here I wouldn't be where I am today. The "tough love" approach that a few others here are speculating at is one of the things that pushed me (whether or not that's what it is), so thank you.
ORJ_Jos: Thanks! I'm so sorry I copied your level. The others were right though, it was a compliment to the design. I really like the magma-floor style of the level. But copying the map idea was a very poor choice, no matter how you swing it. Also, finish your projects! I really like the levels you've released so far, there's a certain "care" put into them that shows in the design. It'd be a shame if I can't play the rest.
saberopus: I'm an R&D Graphics Engineer (no longer Junior as FastGamerr stated) on our Cinebox project, though I do some art stuff occasionally as well. And of course I try to contribute to the games as much as I can. I also totally agree, I'd love to see more progress on Jon`C's project, it was looking really neat the last time I saw it (during the aforementioned "blow-up") and I'm really curious at where it's at.
Anyway, I guess that sums it up. Hopefully I don't get the boot for reviving an old thread.
