I'm sympathetic to the point of view that Obama had to face an intransigent Republican majority congress from 2010 onward, but only to an extent. On many issues, he acted like he had absolutely no leverage over his political opponents, and the result has been that, because most his achievements did not pass through the legislature, it's been incredibly easy for Trump to unwind them.
