The yellow metal grating in this weird product picture reminded me of dflt.mat.

Probably an artifact of early concept work for the level: it was originally supposed to be a mansion or safe house. I’m not sure when they changed it to a largely-empty skyscraper, but I doubt anybody would blink at the idea of some eccentric rich imperial owning one as a pet.

In the book 8t88 has some pet dog things Kyle kills. I wonder if the Kell dragon was a substitution for those. Or a bored level designer thought it would be cool.

Oh yes. And they made audio dramas from the books. Not a narrated audiobook, but real audio dramas with voice acted characters, sound effects, music, the works.

They are a thing of beauty.

It kinda makes sense the whole area may have been changed like that in development. It's suppose to be a worn-out, dilapidated Imperial-commandeered palace that is only occupied at the top and bottom (which is like a port for ships with a flight-control tower), right?

Kid version of me viewed the kell dragon as loose shipping cargo.

I looked for 'em on YouTube. They used to be there unedited, then they were there slightly pitched up to evade copyright claims, and now they seem to be absent entirely. I've got mp3s of 'em somewhere but no warez on massassi ok??
