Taking into consideration that Britain and Australia would come into its defense...

I don't know. Never really seen a recent demonstration of Australian or British military power.

Canada has pretty Navy. However, the other parts of the Armed forces aren't so lucky. This is why often Canadian destroyers are often sent into less friendly places to assist in the operations.

As far as balistics go, Canada is a nuclear disarmed country, as is most of the world. But we do control alot of the Uranium that the US needs to produce it's weapons grade plutonium. Canada doesn't produce such waste in it's nuclear reactors.

I imagine that the UK, Australia and the Rest of the Commonwealth would come to our aid. As would many UN countries.

I'd have have to fight for Canada, given that I am Canadian. I think we could do it, after all we've defended ourselves from US invaders before (well with great help from the First Nations Peoples. We got little help from Britian until the end of that conflict).

Canada would get its a** thoroughly and utterly kicked. No questions asked.

(Bush would probably accuse Canada of supporting terror and would use that as an excuse to invade. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif] )

Canada wouldn't attack US unless we already had backing of all those countries, and if we did it wouldn't be Canada vs. US it would be like...WW3.

And if we did for no good reason, yes of course they wouldn't go on our side.

Actually since Australia has some kind of military alliance with the U.S. -unless- it was a war started by the U.S. invading Canada there is really no way to tell which side we'd join.

Likely neither [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

If you only take the two countries into concideration, then the US would win.. but that isn't fair. In reality, unless things changed completely by then, every other country that is a part of the UN would most likely gang up on the US. So US vs Canada is like US vs the world.. in which case america doesn't really stand a chance.

I would really love to know the reasons of a war pitting the U.S. and Canada against each other that would make it necessary for either country to go through the U.N.

Well, seeing how the canadian army isn't a very powerful force by itself, it would be extremely unlikely that canada would be the one starting the fight. Canada has no reason to be hostile, and even if it did, it would be a very stupid thing to declare war. Canada's strengh is it's allies. Going to war without them would be like bringing your toothbrush to a pistol duel.

Canada's position is incredible. It's one of the most overtly helpless countries in the world, yet they enjoy the good will of just about everyone! Only Australia could boast anything near this.
