in the last sagas of dragon ball z the main bad guy is majin buu(spelt boo in japan, a reverse of the typical pronounciations). he was originaly summoned by bibbidi. After being sealed up for a long time, bibbidi's son, babbidi summoned him again.

what does all this mean, I will show you.

bibbidi, babbidi, boo.

look at that, then remember that annoying song from disney's cinderella.

bippity boppity boo.

see the resemblance. I felt so stupid for not realiseing that, just like most of us did when someone pointed out that the days of the week acronym contained "wtf" on it.

in closeing, did anyone else realise this, if you didn't, please post your annoyance at yourself for being so non-observant.

[edit] I realy hate typos.

The last episode ever of DBZ:

"Who the devil are you?!"

"We're in search of Dragon Balls!"

"Oh for the last time, it's useless for search for dragon balls because Bulma will just crack that whip and you'll lose'em again!"

And so, they all blew up from their newly formed brains. The End.

Well Lucky Jackpot, it's nice to know I've earned at least a little notoriety around here. :P

Either way, that's a recurring theme in DBZ. Kakkarotto, Vegeta, Gohan, Radditsu, etcetera - all food names. There's several others that I can't even dig up.

Then there's the people who are named after cold stuff, and a whole list of people who are named after crap.

Trunks, Bulma (bloomers), Bra, etcetera.

Noticing it isn't very noteworthy.

*And everyone dies laughing*

I have never been able to stand anime due to extremely, extremely low effort on the part of the atrists/animators. Seeing this thread, I think I'll have to extend that oppinion to everyone involved in anime, period!

alpha1: See The Count of Monte Cristo (2002), or We Were Soldiers, or A Beautiful Mind. Compare the overall quality of the stuff you watch with the overall quality of these movies. If you care at all, you may just loose all but a passing interest in DBZ and the like. This will be a good thing, as it will save you thousands of dollars in therapy costs later. ... You're comparing Dragon Ball Z to... A Beautiful Mind? Right, and I don't like broadway because Rambo is more entertaining. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/rolleyes.gif]

Dragon Ball Z is anime from the late 80's. A Beautiful Mind is an American film from the early.. um, 00's? They're from two different ereas, two different genres, two different countries and can in no way be compared. As goes for The Count Of Monte Cristo and We Were Soldiers.

Dragon Ball Z (especially Dragon Ball) is supposed to be stupid at times. That's the whole part of the show. It's the deal with a whole lot of Animes. That's the style of a fair few Japanese cartoons and mangas.

I don't know what you're talking about by saying you don't like anime because of what you call "extremely low effort" of the animators - Dragon Ball Z was made years ago. Watch ANY cartoon from that time (Scooby Doo, The Flinstones..) and their animation quality isn't exactly award winning material - and the stories aren't exactly a whole lot more in-depth, either.
A lot of animes have low budgets, too. Take a look at Neon Genisis - that anime had a rather low budget, and they pulled off a fantastic series.

Guess what? DBZ had it's good moments, and some nice things.

Guess what again? The original Dragon Ball-series though owns DBZ, and the manga Dragon Ball (which is both DB and DBZ) owns them all!

Guess also what? DBZ was very badly dubbed in America. Thus it has created again a very bad image of anime in America.

Guess also again what? There are thousands of times more better manga and anime series than any Dragon Ball?

And finally guess what?

...

First episodes of the original DB (first chapters of the manga series)... pure gold...silver...bronze..however, something that I enjoyed [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

Guess what? DBZ had it's good moments, and some nice things. Not really.

Guess what again? The original Dragon Ball-series though owns DBZ, and the manga Dragon Ball (which is both DB and DBZ) owns them all! DB manga is pretty shabby for a manga. It's like the took the show and added in more crappy bald man humor

Guess also what? DBZ was very badly dubbed in America. Thus it has created again a very bad image of anime in America. That isn't it..really.. The show sucked in japanese just as much. A show doesn't change in animation and plot based on a dub.

Guess also again what? There are thousands of times more better manga and anime series than any Dragon Ball? Yes...THOUSANDS. Most anime shown on TV sucks...MOST. Pokemon WTF is that?!?!? Any show with children and there animals should die! Monster Rancher and Digimon BLEH!! Go rent some anime or buy it...but the TV just slaughters it

And finally guess what? DBZ sucks?

Go watch Bebop...ALL OF YOU!

I don't even bother trying to "defend" DB/DBZ...

...since Cowboy Bebop just owns it.

Cowboy Bebop is greatest anime series ever, and also one of the best series from the 90's (CB was made in 1998) and I really enjoy every second of it.

I think everyone should see CB to see something good.

The American (CN or whatever) dub of Card Captor Sakura was cut up worse than an emo kid, efficently changing the plot.

But we're talking about DBZ here.
