Indeed. They have new wave wrong too.
It's not the side effects of cocaine, so then I'm thinking that it must be love

They have pretty much everything wrong except maybe goa and psychadelic. A bunch of those genres don't even exist!
The music industry is a cruel and shallow money trench where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side.

PureVolume is a totally awesome site! It has several bands that are making themselves known to the world. A few genres that PureVolume has are:

1. Rock
2. Christian Rock
3. Rap
4. Christian Rap
5. Heavy Metal

One day, I hope to get my studio's name on that site, but my parents don't really want to pay for my spot on site (it's like, VERY EXSPENSIVE). Keep rockin' everybody!

Regards,
Da Game Master

I'm sorry, I all about Christianity, and I think it's great that people want to spread God's Word in new and exciting ways... but Christian Rap? Seriously... -_-

I don't mind the idea of Christian rap, but I've seen Christian GANGSTA rap listed as a genre before. That's like...Christian death metal or something.

Woah, yeah that is cool!

Just a pity that it only knows obscure American bands and not obscure European bands.

In related news Audioscrobbler/last.fm today upgraded their recommendations system. And I must say it's MUCH better. The old system rather favored very well known bands, but with the new system you can control a slider to favor more obscure bands. Great stuff.

I just found this one: Garage Band. This has a bunch of interesting music as well as giving you the opportunity to review music. Once you review a certain amount of music, you can upload your own to be reviewed for free, or if you don't want to do any reviews, you can pay a fee to upload it. You can also go to just listen to the music they have. It's arranged by several different genres and has top rated charts in each genre. Also, it's sponsored by Budweiser, so they give away prizes to people that write good reviews.

Actually, I'm not much into most rap out there, but I really like intelligent rap that's not about how much money the rapper has, or how much better a rapper he is than everybody else. And if you like rap much you should check out Mars Ill. He's got some really good stuff on there, you should maybe listen to Sound Off, Breathe Slow, Inside Out, Shuck and Jive, and A-T-Lanta. He's also got a pretty cool song on his purevolume.

And for another example of good Christian rap, check out American Sasquatch (you have to scroll down using those little arrows to get to his songs). Again, this isn't just Christian rap, it's intelligent rap.

On that subject, there are some seriously awesome Christian death/black metal bands out there!
Sympathy (Really sweet 1 man band)
Crimson Moonlight (click media and listen to some of the "Veil of Rememberance" clips)
Pantokrator
Frost Like Ashes, (WARNING: Do not listen to these guys if you're trying to get into black metal, they will make you cry)
Horde (this is almost a joke band that sort of makes fun of black metal, but if you like poorly produced black metal, this stuff might be for you!)
Slechtvalk
Holy Blood
Becoming The Archetype
Lengsel
Extol (Listen to "Ember" for an example of their death metal stuff)
Antestor is pretty sweet, but I can't find any samples for you.

Of course there are more than that, but I think I've wasted enough of my time today. And that list excludes most other forms of Christian metal that aren't death or black.

HOLY THREAD REVIVAL BATMAN

KRSONE isn't Christian, but he's close enough, and he released a whole gospel type CD. Also, Pitchfork sux.

songfight.org is a great website where musicians and bands can compete in weekly competitions. Everyone there is really mean, so if you want to grow as an artist it's a good place, if your ego can handle it. :p

But it's still cool. http://www.songtapper.com/

Use your computer keyboard to tap the rhythm of the song. SongTapper.com will help you find the name of the song. Its fun, its easy, and thousands of daily visitors find it very helpful.

All you have to do is tap the song rhythm and SongTapper does the rest. After tapping is complete you will see a list of matching songs. If we can't identify your song, you can teach our system by entering the song name.
I haven't quite figured out which rythms it trackers (the lyrics, the melody, the drums) but it got quite a few of the songs I tried. And it's a cool concept.
