Yay!

My choice would be Stéphane Dufour.

And why the hell is Kurt Cobain on the list? Nirvana's music was good, but he was far from being an amazing guitarist.

It's because he played left handed.

I'm right handed and can play lefty guitars (with the strings upside-down). Big ****ing deal. :p

I resent the fact that you left The Edge off the list. He's definitely the most innovative in my opinion.

Runner up is Brian May.

It's Favorite guitarist not who's the best :)

I suppose, on that list, my favorite is Hendrix.. but my personal favorites are Rob Arnold of Chimaira, and Willie Adler, of Lamb of God.

There are quite a few decent metal guitarists that I my favourites and I name three:

Max Cavalera (Sepultura and Soulfly): A good rythum guitarist and could sing aggression at the same time.

Logan Mader (Machine Head) A great lead guitarist and if anyone has heard of Machine Head should agree.

Andreas Kisser (Sepultura) An awesome lead guitarist and could rank of one of the best of all time.

Thats my view anyway :)

Herman Li (DragonForce) - can play ultra-long and ultra-fast solos that you don't get bored listening to.

John Petrucci (Dream Theater) - amazingly good
Detty. Professional Expert.

Because he was an innovative songwriter and a musical genius, it doesn't take an epic solo or fiddly guitar part to make a good guitarist.

I voted other.

Omar Rodriguez Lopez.

A great songwriter, yes. Great guitarist? Hardly.

Don't get me wrong, you know I love Nirvana.

Hendrix, Page and Ed, are far more innovative than The Edge could ever dream of being in a thousand years. What innovative thing has he done?

James Hetfield plays the rythm guitar for Metallica. Dave Mustaine was the orginal lead guitarist but was replaced by Kirk Hammet.

Out of everybody, I'd probably say Halen is the best and my favorite.

I love to watch Hetfield and Hammet play the first solo in Master in tandem. It sounds so cool.

Too bad the Offspring can't put out a decent record anymore, they were actually good at one point, unlike NOFX.
