Actually, higher position allows for easier transition from fingering to slapping, or a smoother transition between techniques. I started my post as a joke, but since Rob decided to argue this blindly, I'll stick to it for now. It started off as a joke between myself and my bass-playing friends, but I'll carry it on from here one out.
