Believe it or not, at one time JK CTF was quite popular. PC Gamer, in the volume where JO makes its first appearance even stated that CTF is what made JK so great. The Challenge At Nar Shaddaa is a masterpiece, which nothing to this date can compare with in my opinion (in any game). There are some great user-made maps as well (Fusion by Mormegil is probably the best of those). JK CTF is very unique (unlike CTF in other games where it's practically just deathmatch with flags). There are still some of us die hard CTFers out there, but it's become more of an elitist community as of late.
If you really look at the LEC CTF levels such as The Challenge At Nar Shaddaa, the first thing that you'll notice is that the items were strategically designed for 2v2. Fusion on the other hand plays great for 2v2 and 3v3. Many people, such as myself, would argue that 2v2 CTF makes the game far more challenging and exciting.
Agreed. Higher Ground was a great map and the textures worked well with that type of architecture.
I'm happy to see that so many people have been working/releasing CTF maps as of late. I just wish that more people would use those elements that make JK CTF so unique (keys, keydoors, elevators, catwalks, high elevation, roofs, thrust tubes, forcefields, and an abundance of other things). Deathmatch with flags is fine and dandy, it's just nice to see maps that offer a new standard in strategy like Fusion and C@NS.
