Actually, Zully is right. Most of the details are cylindrical in origin. And, um, the program used for rendering doesn't affect the fundamental structure of the model, so that's impossible.

There acually is a bike that is 2 wheel drive, the gas is stored in the wheels, has a top speed of about 34mph. It can run 3 days none stop, without refueling.

yea, but dodge tomahawk is not a motorbike. it's got 4 wheels, and afaik, motorbike = motored bicycle. bicycle = two wheels. not four. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

While they are manipulated cylinder shapes, calling them "deformed" is not appropriate as it infers inconsistancy. If you look at the tires in the perspective shots, they do appear to be deformed. However, if you look at the side view, you can plainly see they are consistant.

While the program doesn't change the vertexes of the model, it does calculate the position and direction of the camera with respect to the model (imagine the image of a road disappearing off into the distance). Some rendering programs do a better job of calculating the 3D to 2D image.

I know all about perspective calculations in 3D, and I can tell you that Milkshape's are fine and aren't causing any problems.

And I wasn't talking about the wheels, I was talking about the various details on the sides of the bike. They're mostly cylinders.

There isn't a renderer that renders perfectly at a perspective view (with respect to how we see things at perspective angles).

That's fine, I wasn't talking to you anyhow. I quoted Zuljin who made the "deformed" comment. The only thing that appeared to be deformed was the wheels in a few shots, but that's perspective rendering for ya (with the combination of the smooth lighting which makes it hard to tell where some poly's end and others begin, as evident on shot #9).

I suppose if you want to go as precise as every atom...but when I hold a cube up infront of my face, it takes a few seconds of positioning a cube model to look exactly the same...

No, deformed is the correct term, as he removed the form from the cylinder. It has nothing to do with consistency. The wheels aren't even the sections I was referring to.

Erm, I think they actually tried that on some sort of show, locking the handlebars once the bike had a good momentum going. Didn't go too well.. (I might be wrong here, but isn't a little movement of the bars required even at great speeds, due to the gyro forces not holding the bike 100% steady?)

erm, the fact remains that you need to be able to steer the bike, you will always need to steer at a lower speed.
