Looks great. Nice atmosphere! I hope the light beams don't interfere with the dueling gameplay on the ground level.

I also hope the duel map is a bit bigger room. But nice job still.

Very nice, except for two things. First, the glow looks wrong. You should be able to make it smoother; right now it looks kind of blocky. Second, if you look at the top of the beams in the last shot, either the textures don't line up, or there's a lighting error.

Other than that, it's great. It's very simple, but everything blends so well together it doesn't even matter.

I really have absolutely NO idea why people like those 'Glows' since they look like vertex-lighting, very BAD vertex lighting. The map itself owns, just that the 'Glow' fuction looks horrible, and ruins the peice.

Er, they're gradients with alpha channels. You...don't even know what vertex lighting is, do you? People like them because they add realism to the map.

Nice work GothicX! One question about lightbeams. I can make them so that you can see them from outside, but when I go inside of them, I don't see the lightbeam anymore... How did you do that? So let's say, I have a lightbeam coming from ceiling, and when I go right below it, I don't see it anymore...

I use patch meshes to make lightbeams, then copy them and invert the textures [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

The glow is being worked on, as well as the outside area's. I'm also going to add chains and stuff hanging from the ceiling.

Ahh... Patch meshes... That was what I was thinking, bu tI thought there would be some other yet unknown way to do it... I just looked at the sample maps to see how light beams were doen in them...

it isn't as small as i thought it was, but it does need something else to make it pop. maybe some broken ceiling action?

I've just made something better. If you duel for longer than 4 minutes, the gates open and the rancors, that replace the howlers, break free and end the duel [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

Heh wow, that's... bad. Just use brushes with a shader that has cull none.

The rancors overdo it a bit... just set out some howlers. Those are good fun to go against in the first levels of JA.

No, I already got that pair. And the rancors are buggy as hell, so howlers remein in the cages. However, I'll have to wait for the SDK with the new Icarus to make them move. Don't expect an early release.
