Coop Mod Pictures

I thought I'd put up some pictures for the Coop Mod from the Editing Forum. I'm actually working on the coding of the mod and Alienized is working on the mapping. Enjoy.

Remember this is just a showcase of the AI and code not of the maps. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

My computer can only handle about 30-40 entities on screen at a time so I'm thinking that would have to be the max NPCs in your maps.

No, for one, i don't think that would even be fun, what 30 jedi's fighting at once, big no. Also with that many people on screen, it's bound to cause lots of slowdown. Show me some detailed locatations, not just a huge area, it looks like some kind of pit fight. I like that Freyr is doing the coding and all. There is some really cool thing that I think he's doing, but someone really should work on the maps.

This will be a good mod if you can create a decent level for it. I assume what you are showcasing now is merely the coding, in a test level. I hope I'm correct. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

He said specifically that that's the MAXIMUM, not the minimum. He also never implied he would try to hit that maximium constantly.

Sounds pretty good Freyr. I hope we see some good missions from this. ^_^

You guys are correct, that isn't even my map, I just looked for a an open area to showcase my new AI. Alienized is working on some detailed maps that are not just open arenas. By the way this is an MP Mod. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

irc.holonet.org, #massassi. Thank you.

Also, can we see some shots with shooting NPC's? The first one doesn't show too much.

And we want the map WIP's! [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

bah, I would make a map but I broke JA cd 1. I'm using a no-cd patch but I can only play SP levels. Hmm. I wonder somehow to play MP maps on my own without a cd. I can't find a patch that does that.. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/frown.gif]

I used to do that alot. Still do.
Largesand arena is great for spawning wars. My computer can take it. I used to spawn 50 reborns On one side of the map. 50 jedi on the other side. 100 storm troopers. on each lower side. 2 rancors in the arena. Then let the battle begin. That was in SP though.

you should try showcasing something that's different from anything else. Perhaps showcasing what the AI does when faced with a wall... plus, you can't showcase anything with screenshots, you need video capture to prove that they're actually doing anything.

Essentially the concept is the same, except that instead of having just NPC's you can play with your friends over a server now. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]Of course this will require specialized maps, but I'm going to release a tutorial on how make them. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

Sometimes they move a little too fast though I like timescale 0.9 or 0.85 makes it fell more like Star Wars.

Then you will certainly be able to handle the mod if you can handle it in SP
SP uses more commands so gives you more lag

Well Echoman It depends on the quality and polish of the maps. You could make a few boxy rooms, add a few downloaded prefabs and call it a map. Or you could do a good job.......................

40 NPC's at one particular time. You can spawn new NPC's using switches and triggers. But you can't have much more than 40 at any given time.
