Pardon my asking... but what does being able to spawn NPCs have to do with CO-OP?

It's not that hard to spawn 50 jedi's in a cheat game and call it your own coop mod.

OK ,this is a COOP mod. It adds the functionality for HUMANS to fight TOGETHER on a TEAM. NPCs have enhanced AI and players fight until they DIE and oon't respawn. Not to mention that I've added many new cvars to correct errors in the JA source itself. It is a combination between SP and MP which adds strategy and teamwork to the MP game. Hope that explains it. You need to have some patience with people. Not everyone is thinking the way you are.

You should also know that spawning a lot of NPCs in JA MP isn't a good thing. it makes bugs and slows down the game after even 20 of them. Playing cooperatively against NPCs isnt really anything new, also. You can do it in normal JA MP. Maybe show some MP maps that are more SP influenced so you can show that twio players online are actually playing something like SP against NPCs, because right now you are just showing normal gameplay.

You should expect questions like the ones asked by me and Xanatos, and not blow up in people's faces when they dont understand a concept that you arent fully showing in the firt place.

Sorry, I've just put a lot of time into this mod and so has the rest of the team and its hard to have it insulted, but I'm sorry. Sorry Xanatos. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Your right fightning NPCs in MP isn't anything new but to my knowledge there isn't a mod out that adds a gameplay similar to Team FFA (no team damaging) but humans vs. NPCs. We're also working on a single player like engine so there can be several maps linked together in a story plot. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif] Maybe someone else from the team would explain it better than me (Alienized). We'll try to put some WIP maps up for you guys to see. And about the lag there tactics you can use to get around it in maps and the code.

Again, sorry about my last remark.

Here's my explanation of it. I also posted this on the "Mods" thread in the JO/JA editing forum. This is for those to lazy to look [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

We are trying to create a co-opertive game mod by pitting Human players against NPC's. Now, this is not your standard melee fair, it's not going to be just one huge pit fight, with 10 people versus 50 NPC Reborn. The mod will have more depth than that, it will feature mission based maps where there are certain objectives you will have to acomplish, just like in a single player game. It will hopfully feature some sort of story. We want to give this mod an epic single player feel, but with a fun multiplayer expeirence.

I am already working on a mission based map for this mod. I'm not sure what Alienized has made, but I can't wait to find out. If this explanation is not clear enough I will try to clear it up. Also this is what I personaly think, not Freyr's, Alienized's, Echoman's, or Darthyun's goal. What was stated above is what I personaly want from this great mod.

I'm happy to help.
Oh yeah, I forgot to add many things in this mod will require team work. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

I'm surprised noone caught this. You don't need to use the CD to edit levels. And you can always test out your levels in SP.

If you mean ~50 enemies before people's machines will start to run slow, that's fine. If you mean you coded a limit in, then that's the most illogical thing I've ever heard of.

What are you people asking about what it's for? It can be used for cooperative missions or even singleplayer missions...

Your right that would be downright stupid to code a limit of NPCs. I meant that I'm tweaking the code the squeeze a little performance out of NPCs behavioral code.

You probally won't notice any major difference in performance but not continuosly running group AI loops helps a bit.

Or show pictures of the maps, even.

How about a system that allows players to control and play cooperativly with good NPCs? I've already started working on it. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

Some WIPs would be nice Alienized. Unless you want to keep your maps secret until release like Arkon. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

You know that showcasing is just so you can get criticism and improve, right? There's nothing wrong with showing maps, so you can get ideas from otgers, methinks..
