NAS_Matyy, (and anyone else who applies), I am NOT basing the model on the Kyle from the cutscenes! (yet -- if I do, it will be texture work, not modelling). My model is based on the player model that was used in the levels of the game. Please stop comparing my Kyle model to Jason Court when it's not even (really) based on him! And if you'll notice, the original LEC model doesn't exactly look much more (if at all) like Court, either.
I'm sorry, but it seems like some people missed the part when I compared my model to LEC's Kyle model, and NEVER compared it to the Kyle actor.

I am being kinda harsh, but please don't take this post the wrong way; I probably could have made the situation a little clearer to begin with... but now it should be plenty clear

Later today, I'll get to work on the model again.

Not to be nitpicky, but I did noticed you reversed the UV map from the original model. Look at the hair, it's backwards. Then again, I think you should leave it like that.

Well, the first thing I notice is that New Kyle's neck is WAY too thin. It makes him look like Charlie Brown or something. And I think Cutscene Kyle looks like an internet stalker.

I think you need to shut up. Cutscene Kyle is 'da bomb'. Or something.

who else sees it?

Now Kyle is a bit more manly-looking [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif], his nose is not pointy anymore, and I placed the ears as best I could judge -- I think they might be a tad big; does anyone else think so?
I forgot to thicken the neck, too, but I'll remember it later [edit] I forgot, I scaled down the head size, and now the neck seems to fit [/edit]. Also, I removed his left shoulderpad.

if you can scale down the arms just a little bit. his head seems too small for his shoulders, but the torso looks fine. its just the arms.

Well haven't you been busy Slaw [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif] - not happy being a proficient cogger, I for one have noticed how much your modelling abilities have improved over the last 6 months or so [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif], and this is no exception [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Keep up the good work - the screenies in your last post are significantly better than those at the beginning of the thread, especially the nose and ears (in my opinion [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]). Just my two pennies worth [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]

He does not, in fact, look manly. He's either a little weasly guy now, or he's twelve. He needs more jaw. And you need to stop trying to twist the scowling JK face into a friendlier expression.

Kyle's head was always small, the model anyway.

Also, try to fix the boyish looking hair

I think you need to ignore JM's post, because it looks nearly perfect. The ratio to head and shoulders doesn't look right for some reason, though. I'd suggest placing those screenshots over real people, or over a human blueprint (Divinchi?) to see where the body needs moving around.

But seriously, JM's opinion is really off. I see none of those issues. The hair looks awesome, too.

Man, I never realized that LEC's kyle was so pissed off. I guess I'd be pissed to if a bunch of dark jedi buttheads offed my dad and gave the keys to my house to a bunch of filthy tuskans.

Awesome model man, the shoulders might be scales back just a hair like others have said and the stitching on the side of the head needs a little cleaning up but thats all I'd touch personally.

I;m not. What you see on my Kyle is what Kyle's face texture *really* looks like. I didn't even know LEC's Kyle was scowling until after I put up that comparison pic.

Try putting dark kyle's face on there...go from the scowl to the twisted grimance of insanity.
2004-09-01, 6:42 PM #62
I think that you should leave the grin on. It makes him look alot better than scowling kyle.

Eh, it rocks right now, that's all I can say.. but the dark kyle face would be interesting.

In summary, YAY HIS HEAD'S NOT A BLOCK ANYMORE.

And LEC's DID look like Hitlar. Scary.
